Quoted from TheLaw:1. Because there is no benefit of talking aboot how you don't like a band with a bunch of people that love that band; it a no win situation.
2. Most people are theme whores and if they don;t like it they won't buy it.
yup, we all start off as theme whores, and if you stick around in this hobby, you will realize that theme doesn't mean dick. 80% of the games with shit themes are actually really good, as well as great themes that are shit play.

Yup. I like GNR the band, some years better than others, but not a die hard GNR fan like my roommate. But this game could have been White Snake and it would still be great regardless.
With that said, GNR is a close to being in a 3-way tie for best Pin IMO. I played a broken one at Pinball Museum and it went way down on my list actually. I didn’t really know until I tore it down, rebuilt it to 100%, then played many games. It has very high replay value and might be Borgs best game (as long as you have a Pinsound to change out some of the tracks of course). So when I hear people complain about this game, they just didn’t really play it or a working one
It plays like a Cadillac, much more solid that any Widebody from that era. Lots of different even balanced goals, etc, really having little to do with Guns. Actually one of the fun goals is Snake Pit which Slash snuck into the game. Seems blasphemous on a GNR Pin. It’s like playing a KISS pin with the other 2 fake guys pretending to be Peter & Ace
The Upper loop shot consistency is tough, it has 2 smooth flowing ramps, tight loop shots, and tough but not impossible Riot 6 ball. All around fun balanced game
Bottom line, when guest come over, it’s the game they first want to play cuz it’s GNR, but in the end they continue to play it because I doesn’t require a five hour rule book lesson. That’s what my IJPBA is for

Agree, just my thoughts too
And forgot to mention, I ran into the man Jersey Jack himself at the Wonka release and of course I harassed him about the GNR. He was very poker but after 3 attempts I got “I’m workin on it”
So it just might be my first NIB, but of course will need to be damn good. So far JJP machines haven't disappointed (I’m not a fan of DI tho) and are just getting better with each release, so I’m saving my money now and gonna bet on it vs against it. Won’t know until we know tho

yes, once in a while, a game will have a great theme (if you happen to be a fan) and great gameplay/layout/rules. But it doesn't happen that often. Hell, I don't like metallica and didn't know anything about iron maidens music, and both of those games are awesome. I am a fan of the rolling stones and that game is dogshit.

I remember a slightly different album cover on mine. Oh snap! I still have it.
I'm still looking forward to the family friendly song list that eliminates all references to sex, drugs, racism, homophobia, and all the other vices the band was well known for and involved with.

I want that short song to be the drain song!
