Quoted from Golgotha:THANK YOU Seamlesswall
I knew it was NEVER a corrosion issue. Maybe my pictures looked different than reality. I disconnected the Opto board connector and game booted with no issue except opto's were dead. I just installed the replacement board from Marco and played a few games. Game play is perfect. No issues.
So what I hope some of you take notice is that making suggestions is great, but when people say your suggestion is Not applicable, please don't turn hostile. Nobody wins with bad attitudes. I appreciate everyone that threw ideas. Seamless gets the prize!
I’m going to quote this, for when he comes back with future issues, relating to what wasn’t addressed.
Sure, you got the machine working again, and that’s great for now. Look at it this way, you put a bandaid on it to get it running, there is still a bigger issue, that will eventually come back and bite you.
People very experienced with these types of old electronics, gave you solid advice, to ensure that board would last you many years. What they pointed out, will eventually cause you major issues, and become much more difficult to repair, the longer you let it go.
Glad it’s working, but to suggest that others on here, gave you advice about what was “never” the issue, just shows ignorance. But you do you, enjoy the game.
