Flamin’ Groovies - overlooked and almost forgotten, but this is one of the best “Power Pop” tunes of the 70s:

Good one! Great example of distilling the Prog Rock bag of tricks into a great Pop tune, an approach that obviously payed off in a big way for them in the 80s.
Made me think of “Kayleigh” by Marillion (one of very few true Prog bands in the 80s):
