The Only Ones - Another Girl Another Planet

I always flirt with death
I could kill, but I don't care about it
I can face your threats
And stand up straight and tall and shout about it

I think I'm on another world with you, with you
I'm on another planet with you, with you

You get under my skin
I don't find it irritating
You always play to win
But I won't need rehabilitating, oh no

I think I'm on another world with you, with you
I'm on another planet with you, with you

Another girl, another planet
Another girl, another planet

Space travels in my blood
There ain't nothing I can do about it
Long journeys wear me out
But I know I can't live without it, oh no

I think I'm on another world with you, with you
I'm on another planet with you, with you

Another girl is loving you now
Another planet, is holding you down
Another planet

This thread seems kind of in a lull. But it shouldn't die yet!

I can't help it if I always wanted to be a DJ.

Here's some Grandmaster Flash to get this party rolling!

I don't know how to post YouTube videos, but Slainte Mhath by Marillion is powerful, beautiful, poetic, and an all around perfect bit of pop; done by an immensely talented progressive rock band. Marillion has been kicking ass since 1979.

Quoted from Frippertron:

I don't know how to post YouTube videos

You just copy the address and paste. Like I am doing with Brian Eno's "Baby's on Fire", Frippertron.

Tony Carey's "A Fine Fine Day" is pretty powerful:

Then there's his work in Planet P - "Why Me"

At The Drive In - One Armed Scissor

The lyrics are obvious, but for those who never saw Alien:

Yes this is the campaign
Slithered entrails
In the cargo bay
Neutered is the vastness
Hallow vacuum check the Oxygen tanks

They hibernate
But have they kissed the ground
Pucker up and kiss the asphalt now
Tease this amputation
Splintered larynx
It has access now

Cut away, cut away
Send transmission from
The one armed scissor
Cut away, cut away

Banked on memory
Mummified circuitry
Skin graft machinery
Sputnik sickles found in the seats
Self-destruct sequence
This station is non-operational
Species growing
Bubbles in an IV loitering

Unknown origin
Is this the comfort of being afraid
Solar eclipsed
Black out the vultures
As they wait

Dissect a trillion sighs away
Will you get this letter
Jagged pulp sliced in my veins
I write to remember
'cause I'm a million miles away
Will you get this letter
Jagged pulp sliced in my veins
I write to remember

Probably the most perfect Metal song ever recorded.

Measuring in at 2.1 meters, the Dutch Hercules himself, Tesco Vee and the Meatmen

Rock N' Roll Juggernaut

Rock N' Roll Juggernaut
-------------------

Testosterone and funny bones,
Meatboy showband review
With mega-cranked pickax and headbang
your eardrums black and blue

We smash, we crash, we lay to waste,
all things that most hold dear.
That jerk bait, good hate, meat philosophy
plundering your rear

It's a rock n roll juggernaut in your face
Were five bees in the bonnet of the human race
Twisting USA's youth into waste

Here's non-stop, non stock, snarling cockrock
The deadliest of din
Showboat, toting angry weapons
Salt peter soaked with gin

We drink bong water and bourbon cocktails,
a righteous manly brew
And jab it into our veins for kicks,
if it clears up well in spoons

It's a rock n roll juggernaut in your face
Were five bees in the bonnet of the human race
Twisting USA's youth into waste

Gaz Coombes - Walk the Walk

One of the best songs from 2018 that just didn't blow up as it totally deserved to. Absolutely intoxicating from start to finish.

#483 5 years ago

It's a moldy oldie, but for pure pop it can't be beat.

The Monkees - Words.

This one was in super heavy rotation and then one day just stopped about a year ago.

Can't for the life of me figure out why.

#494 5 months ago

This might be an absolute ice cold take, hopefully it hasn't been mentioned yet, but for pop perfection I don't think it gets much better than this

#495 5 months ago

Jellyfish, The King is Half Undressed. 1990, if you blinked, you probably missed them, but this song has Been my go-to for pop perfection for over 30 years.
