So we found a lot of great tunes in the Perfect Pop Song thread:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/give-me-an-absolutely-perfect-pop-song

And a lot of great wax in the Perfect Album thread:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/gimmie-a-perfect-album

And a lot of horrid radio fodder in the Moldy Oldie Thread:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/post-your-favorite-moldy-oldie-tired-or-overplayed-songs

-

So now's your chance to pull out your deepest House, Deep House, Techno, Dubstep, Trap, Jungle, Ambient, Dub, and EDM.

Try to avoid posting any braindead Moldy Oldies like YMCA or The Hustle - those go in the Moldy Oldie thread above.

Remember to post the artist name and song title above the video.

I'll start the game off with a track that got some regular airplay, along with many months of club play

Basement Jaxx - Where's Your Head At

#3 5 years ago

This song tore it up a few years ago, and had Siouxsie from the Banishes

Basement Jaxx - Cish Cash feat. Siouxsie Sioux

Miss that so you want to kick that
All messed up and that's a fact
If you want to risk that do that

Yo yo yo

Guess it's time for pay back
So you want your cish cash
Owe it all to splish splash
So mish mash you 'spect to go go go

Yo yo yo yo
You want it, you take it
You take it, you got it
You want it, you take it
You're insatiable!

It's not enough you want more of it
It's not enough must have all of it
Overflowing on overkill
All the hands are out for their pound of flesh

It makes the world spin round and round
The hands are out for their bloody pound
Overflowing on overkill

Sticky licky yummy yummy
Dipping in the milk and honey

You want it, you take it
You take it, you got it
You want it, you take it
You're insatiable!

Voodoo & Serano - Blood Is Pumpin'

#5 5 years ago

Dominatrix UK - Possession

#6 5 years ago

Vince Clarke and Martin Gore, still delivering the goods!

VCMG “Flux”

#7 5 years ago

A really cool husband/wife duo:

Peaking Lights “Cosmic Tides”

#8 5 years ago

Not a deep cut but a classic. Soft Cell - Tainted Love

#9 5 years ago

Semi Deep cut - The Passengers - Always Forever Now

#10 5 years ago

This song has been a go-to banger for years now. Basically anything by Designer Drugs to be quite honest!

#11 5 years ago

Klaypex „Lights“

Mediks „By a Thread (Hybrid Minds Mix)“ - Original is good as well

Maybe a bit too much, but difficult to forget once heard: Celldweller „The Imperial March“

#13 5 years ago

And a few classics:

Marusha „Over the Rainbow“ - likely that it doesn’t work w/o 90s nostalgia

DJ Energy „Believer“ - Needs also a bit of 90s nostalgia, but still love the synth, making it perfect.

Nasty Habits „Shadow Boxing“ - back then absolutely brutal. Today maybe more difficult to get into and not that much pressure anymore, but I still love it.

Daft Punk „Da Funk“ - Absolutely blew my mind when I heard it for the first time in 1995 - who had thought what would follow...

Ed Rush & Optical „Medicine (Matrix Remix)“ D&B Classic that still works 19 years later...

D&B still rocks it for me at 45 years old

Absolutely. Whereby I need to admit that a lot of D&B classics from the 90s (applies to EDM in general) aren‘t as convincing anymore, because today‘s tracks punch a few times stronger.(Virtual) synths, DAWs, mastering and sound design evolved.

Basement Jaxx - Where's Your Head At

Oh man a great one no doubt.

But if I'm thinking techno/club shit, which I don't, there's Lords of Acid and not much else. That's my "old school" anyway.
Lords of Acid - I sit on Acid

#17 5 years ago

Underworld - Rez

Perfect club track that has it all:

Something more breakbeat:

Gus Gus - Sasha vs The Light - Purple

#18 5 years ago

Ooh, nice thread. Let me chip in with an absolute classic from the early (acid) years.

#19 5 years ago

Herbie, Right Type of mood.

#20 5 years ago

Tiesto, Just Be

#21 5 years ago

This is easy....released March 7, 1983 and still remains the best selling 12" single of all time...

New Order - Blue Monday

#23 5 years ago

One of my fave's... Grooverider's remix of the Stone Roses "Fools Gold"

#24 5 years ago

Chase the sun. Planet Funk

Jump Around, House of Pain

#26 5 years ago

Grooveyard - Mary Go Wild. Talk about perfection.

#27 5 years ago

Ah watching the sunset at Café del Mar... good times!

#28 5 years ago

Layers layers layers...
Members of Mayday - Sonic Empire

#29 5 years ago

Terminator - metal heads. The best terminator techno, you may have never heard it.
It holds up, for me.

#30 5 years ago

This list is not complete without these fellas.

Awesome video clip too, which, as the song, was highly controversial back then. It still seems to be banned on Youtube. Gee, wonder why. Watch until the very end.

I have the ideal entry: it's called BLEUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRGH, it's easy to remember and it's the perfect accompaniment to any club song ever.

The proper version (Kid Paul mix)

Shal-low

#34 5 years ago

Closing tune to many a rave.

FSOL - Papua New Guinea

#35 5 years ago

Fookin'ate it, but then I'm a bit of an old prog snob.

#36 5 years ago

#37 5 years ago

Goose bumps
The Age Of Love - The Age Of Love (Jam & Spoon Remix)

#38 5 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Lords of Acid - I sit on Acid

Definitely a classic!

They aren’t the only ones, but are probably among the best. Being a RnR guy first and foremost I’m a sucker for great riffs, so I really like the heavier industrial sound they evolved into in the late 90s:

“Sex Bomb” (obviously NSFW):

#39 5 years ago

Solarstone- Lunar Rings

#41 5 years ago

Let's house it up a little.

#42 5 years ago

#43 5 years ago

Almost 30 years old but this still holds up and especially around Halloween (if you are a Freddie Kruger fan, then anytime)

Holy Noise - The Nightmare (Power Mix)

#44 5 years ago

If you are an EDM virgin, this is a good track to gently ease into you.

Freestylers - Cracks (Ft. Belle Humble)

#45 5 years ago

If you've got a sub, here is a track to see if you bought junk

Chasing Shadows - Red

#46 5 years ago
Quoted from jazzmaster:

This is easy....released March 7, 1983 and still remains the best selling 12" single of all time...
New Order - Blue Monday

Absolute stone-cold classic that still gets played frequently in clubs. It’s not merely a club classic either, Bernard’s dead-simple riff is one of the most memorable in all of Rock!

Another great classic of the era, with perennially relevant songwriting:

#47 5 years ago

Some nice bubbling acid.
Fatboy Slim - Everybody Needs A 303

#48 5 years ago

Ok, one more bump for this thread (no pun intended) with some classic Downtempo:

Massive Attack “Angel”

#49 5 years ago

Might be veering a bit away from the topic but still an early classic...From Liverpool...1979...

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Electricity

#50 5 years ago

Another from the synth pop side of things but I've never stepped on a dance floor that was worth a flip that didn't spin something from these Basildon pioneers...

Depeche Mode ‎– Behind The Wheel (12" Beatmasters Mix)
