He was my inspiration to learn to play drums,him and Ringo!!! Listen to him do "Toad"on wheels of Fire!! And of course,"Sunshine of your Love" live at the Fillmore West,SF,CA,what a time to be young
Ginger was and is my favorite drummer. Cream was my favorite group when I was growing up. I saw Ginger in 2005 at Madison Square Garden the second night of the Cream reunion. It was the best concert I have seen and heard. I saw him in 2014 at New Hope, Pa with his Jazz Confusion group. I saw GBJC again at New Hope. He always had his own style!
RIP Ginger. Cream and the Yard Birds spawned more than a few Rock Legends back in the day. Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Clapton all went on to bigger better things.
