Haha that's the part that always comes to mind for me too. That's my least favorite song on that album - it does get in your head though, and specifically because of that part. But they added that song at the last minute in place of Total Eclipse, originally recorded for NOTB - and which is a better song IMO.

Since DAC has spent more of his life behind bars than on the outside, I believed him.
He played a good set, and seemed like a totally nice guy in person.
I VEHEMENTLY disagree with a lot of his anthropological views, but the guy does know how to write a good tune. That album he did with Pantera (for example) is a southern metal all you can eat buffet

As the story goes, the album cover artist incorrectly spelled "Odyssey" as "Odessey" and because the band had already disbanded, the album was released absent the correction.
The Zombies are known for three hit songs, to wit: Time Of The Season, She's Not There, and Tell Her No. This album includes Time Of The Season. The other songs on the LP are every bit as good. I especially like A Butcher's Tale and Hung Up On A Dream. The lead singer, Colin Blunstone, possesses a distinctive voice, often described as breathy. His many solo albums are excellent. Some older pinsiders may remember the Zombies keyboardist and songwriter, Rod Argent, who enjoyed solo success of his own with his namesake band.
As a kid in the sixties and seventies, the Zombies were my favorite band. I saw the Zombies at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey about 15 years ago. Colin and Rod still had the mojo after all of these years. Front row!

Completely agree. I got into this band purely because of the name (I don't know what I thought - that they were a punk band maybe?) .. what a shocker when I heard "time of the season". What I heard was this ethereal, haunting sound... great vocal harmonies here, in the age of Ben E. King's Stand By Me

HUGE thumbs up for the Spock's album! (although it is a bit generous to call The Light "modern" Neal's later albums are also really good when they don't get too preachy.

I think the Transatlantic and Flying Colors albums are Neal’s best latter-day works. His solo stuff is nothing short of phenomenal in terms of musical achievement, but I feel the songwriting is a bit too literal and “easy” (if that makes sense); I’ve listened to classic albums like “Close to the Edge”, “Foxtrot”, “In the Land of Grey and Pink”, and “Octopus” scores of times, and the fact that I STILL haven’t fully penetrated and deciphered the lyrics is part of what keeps me coming back for more!
If you like the Beard, you will almost certainly dig Echolyn too. This one-song 50-minute masterpiece of an album also qualifies as “perfect”, just astonishingly good in every aspect and everything we love about Prog:
Totally agree re: Transatlantic / FC. amazing those 2 bands are able to keep it going after so long, and with the same guys AND with their crazy “main” bands schedules.
Will check out Echolyn; I’ve heard their name but haven’t dived in yet.

Paradise Lost - Draconian Times
Every track on Draconian is a knockout. Even the piano intro to the album give you chills. The latest PL album “Obsidian” is the closest in style to DT in recent memory

I’d argue Peace Sells has increased in reputation since it was released - but RIP is a rimless classic. IMO far superior to the black album, which is great but can become tiresome. Never happened with RIP. Just jammed on Tornado of Souls and Lucretia last night. My hand is still cramped up from the Tornado solos!

I am REALLY hoping Stu would do a couple guest spots now that Iced Earth has become a cluster. They were SO amazing live when he was with them. Haven't seen anything from them in person since 06(!) seeing them open for Symphony X and Epica. Hope Tim is doing well!

Judas Priest Unleashed in the East is pretty excellent although I believe the lyrics were re-recorded later so arguably a semi-live album.
Hahah “Unleashed in the Studio”, lots of overdubs on that record. Still great!
