These guys deserve more spotlight! This whole album is awesome!!
Quoted from ZooDude:Perfection.
Spotted this thread for the first time today, clicked, and immediately saw Nomeansno's Wrong in the image gallery. I've loved that album for 30 years. Never imagined I'd see it mentioned on pinside. Sadly I can't quite cosign "perfect album" status as there are a couple songs I skip, but the highs are SO damn high. Major props to you.

My brothers! Popular choice, and well deserved. Forgive me for what I'm about to say, but my one perfect, desert island record is actually the green album.
If you love melody, walls of guitar, hooks for days, and the never-ending pursuit of an ideal three-minute power pop song, I propose you can do no better than Weezer's second self-titled (and third overall) album. It's a wonder I have any eardrums left after blasting this thing in my car seemingly nonstop since the summer of 2001.
Green is a controversial choice, especially among Weezer diehards (shout out to Matt Damon on SNL), but I stand by my pick as Rivers Cuomo's singular flawless masterwork, and the most perfect 30 minutes of popular music assembled by mankind.

Pretty Hate Machine is the correct answer.
I LOVE the first half of Downward Spiral (even if i forgive Closer) but the second side is a drag. Hurt is great & Eraser serviceable; but the rest is lame.
Maybe it's because the first half was so overplayed (at least in my bubble), but I actually grew to prefer the second half? I really got sucked in by the whole '90s nihilist concept album thing, which made me love every one of those side B tunes, even the title track, which is suffocating out of context but perfect for the "story." Downward Spiral is probably my Dark Side of the Moon, or Wall, or whichever Floyd album is supposed to be good.
Bonus points for A Warm Place which I later learned was basically a Bowie cover and turned me onto the Berlin trilogy, Eno, etc.
Quoted from vid1900:Obviously, only one album per post. (otherwise, how would we know which was getting upvoted?)
For your consideration
This may not be a lot of pinsiders cup of tea but if you were in the right age bracket when this album dropped, you know how huge it was, and rightfully so. Its a banger front to back. The original Chronic is considered a classic and a masterpiece, and rightfully so, but this is Dr. Dre's magnum opus. From the into with the THX sound going into the sounds of a low rider hopping, you know you're gonna be in for a treat. This album spawned many hit singles but even the deeper cuts will have your head boppin, and thats what makes this....a perfect album

With Teeth is the perfect sex album.

I never heard of this but I checked it out a little bit. I dig it. Will probably have to go onto my weekend playlist to give it a proper spin

A beautiful, dare I say, perfect album. It's a bit easier not to misstep since it's more of an EP than a full length. For anybody who likes heavy music, it's instrumental metal/hardcore (metalcore? crossover?) by Parris Mayhew, the guy who wrote most of the Cro-Mags stuff. I don't particulary care about the Cro-Mags and I don't really see a similarity, but you can see the guy has various influences and is a great composer and player.

That one has never clicked with me; I think it’s being forcefed it during the 90s when I was still devouring every thrash band I could find
Alteady been mentioned but the early Alice Cooper stuff, particularly School's Out and Billion Dollar Babies. I have no idea how he got away with I Love The Dead
Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics. Heaviest band ever?
Judas Priest Unleashed in the East is pretty excellent although I believe the lyrics were re-recorded later so arguably a semi-live album.

Hahah “Unleashed in the Studio”, lots of overdubs on that record. Still great!

Yes, it's quality nonetheless
Quoted from Hench4Life:f you’ve never given it a listen from front to back, I highly suggest giving it a shot.
I have been wanting to actually. Not rwlly my era so I don't know much aboot hom but I've heard it's a killer album
Quoted from Eman1:[quoted image]
Big Pantera fan - when I listen to this one, first half I think masterpiece, but second half I think it runs a bit out of steam. Far Beyond Driven for my taste but I wouldn't argue anyone calling Vulgar Display their magnum opus.
Quoted from Eman1:Arguably the best of anything recently released[quoted image]
LOL!!!
Quoted from bane:It was so good before. Now . . . [chef’s kiss]
As I have said before, The Replacements rule.

Tim and Let It Be are really great albums. I really like the unique song writing and lyrics.
Don't really listen to black metal, but this one is a classic - every song is a banger. Great riffs, not too lo-fi, not too operatic.

In no particular order, could listen to either of these albums non stop for days.

Hash Pipe is fun but the band was never the same after Matt Sharp left imho.
Quoted from hawkmoon:All fine music, however,Deric and the Dominoes,Lala,is the top spot! Then, and now!
I read both Patti and Eric's autobiographies. They have very different memories of how their affair started. I like how after Patti left George she wanted to marry Eric. Her father had passed so she asked her ex-husband George if he'd give her away at the wedding and he said GLADLY! Ok, he did walk her down the aisle and give her away, but I made up the "GLADLY" comment.
