At the risk of getting flamed... and I'm all about classics... Taylor Swift Folklore is an A+. I would have never given it a chance if it wasn't for my 18 year old daughter. But damn. Taylor Swift's entirely remote Covid collaboration with Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff with a bit of Justin Vernon is tremendous. I highly recommend you all watch "The long pond sessions" with your TV hooked up to a nice stereo.

In Flames - Colony

Try giving this album a listening to.
Might not be for everybody, but I can listen to this on repeat and just get lost in it.

Here’s another one I can listen to from start to finish and love the entire album.

Moon Safari

I have to agree meets the criteria of an album with all great songs.

3 perfect hard rock albums IMHO:

Your wife has good taste! I was one track away from suggesting this... but sweetest perfection drives me nuts.

Clayman is awesome too, the old album!
Here's one underrated band with lots of great tracks.
Paradise Lost - Draconian Times

Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique

#727 8 months ago
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:

One of if not the the best metal album of all time. [quoted image]

Rust In Peace is a masterpiece.

I remember getting both the black album and rust in piece around the same exact time. I wanted the black album to be great, perhaps it is.

But rust in peace is a glaring speed metal tour de force. Possibly my favorite “speed metal”

Pretty big on peace sells too. Devils island...

Paradise Lost - Draconian Times

Every track on Draconian is a knockout. Even the piano intro to the album give you chills. The latest PL album “Obsidian” is the closest in style to DT in recent memory

I’d argue Peace Sells has increased in reputation since it was released - but RIP is a rimless classic. IMO far superior to the black album, which is great but can become tiresome. Never happened with RIP. Just jammed on Tornado of Souls and Lucretia last night. My hand is still cramped up from the Tornado solos!

Iggy Pop can be hit or miss with me, but this one is outstanding. The King Biscuit release of the Live at the Channel Show in Boston 7/19/88. Great beginning to end.

Ok so I looked this up not knowing what to expect other than your description. I have never heard of this band before, but I can GUARANTEE that they will be in the rotation now. Really good stuff. This is the stuff I like to have on when working on projects in the basement. Thanks for sharing!

Agree with Boston and Ten. Don't know anything off Core except for Plush and Creep so I will give the whole album a listen.

they weren't for me.. but I love discovering new music.. I just finally listened to Joy Division for the first time and totally digging them.. never guessed they'd sound like they do

*do you listen to the band Into Eternity? that IQ reminded me of them..they are local and I'm friends with a few of the boys..

The first couple that popped into my head, where every song works, totality tells a story and they wrote what came out of their guts and didn't write to please the listener necessarily: John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band & Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

Lots of great choices already. Here are some albums that I consider perfect. These are not in any order.

Led Zeppelin
The Cars
Joshua Tree
Who's Next
The Dark Side of the Moon
Boston
Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

Honorable mention:
Aja - Jazzy might not be everyone's thing.
Let it Be - The Replacements. Gary's Got a Boner isn't great.
War by U2 - Really solid and underappreciated.

I am REALLY hoping Stu would do a couple guest spots now that Iced Earth has become a cluster. They were SO amazing live when he was with them. Haven't seen anything from them in person since 06(!) seeing them open for Symphony X and Epica. Hope Tim is doing well!
