Ahoy Gilligans Island mateys.

I’m restoring a GI that was a pile of incomplete junk when I got it. It was missing boards, bad wiring, etc etc.

Got it all up and running after a lot of work. Took ages to track down all the shorts that were blowing fuses.

Last one I have - the RAMP DOWN coil blows the fuse. Manual lists the coil as an SM1-26-600 which I’ve ordered. The place I got it from says it has no diode.

But - several other places list it as having a diode.

Could someone be kind enough to look at their RAMP DOWN coil and see if it has a diode on it?

Thanks!

Quoted from Hawk007:

Hey rotordave Yes there is a diode on that coil. just verified on my machine .

Thanks guys! I‘ve had a GI for about 15 years, this is my second one, I sold the first one a few months back when I got this one, as this one has a nice PF and cabinet, even though it was half missing.

So, coil wise, so far we have 1x diode, 1x no diode. lol!

Same as when you google the part.

The manual refers to “diode tieback” which is what made me think about it. Other WPC 20v coils are no diode.

More data required.

PS the GI manual appears to have a lot of errors in it. The factory molex plugs are wired different to the manual.

Nice! Keep them coming!

PS remember to check on the top side of the coil (PF side ...)

I’m thinking it is NO DIODE but if that is the case and there is one on there, I don’t think it would do any harm.

Finally!

My new GI is complete.

I had a decent players one for years ... I got this one in Los Angeles about 18mths ago, with a really nice playfield and above average cabinet colours. But it had no driver board and it wasn’t working (obviously...)

Jezzzzzzus it took a long time to iron out all the issues. Burnt coils, no sound, popping fuses all the time ... finally got it all sorted and she plays like a dream!

50,000,000!!!

Funny - KONA looks really red in that picture, it’s not in real life.

I’m not a colour puker!

Welcome to
" The best game EVER"!

I wouldn’t go that far lol

But I dig it. Simple games are cool. I opened up all the lanes to make it tougher.

I bought my first GI about 15 years ago I guess for $1000, so I’m no stranger to the Skipper.

Quoted from Hammerhead:

GI and BBBB side by side, the two basement dwellers of the Pinside top 100.

If you’ve got all 30 System 11s, you gotta have Bugs!

I’ve said before, maybe not for everyone, but the ladies and the kids love it.

Not every pin can be as awesome as Jokerz!
