Brought home a Gigi today. I took the glass off and performed all the functions to see if they worked by using my finger to activate everything. Everything worked as it should, so I cleaned everything up and put the glass back on.

Next I played a game and noticed when the ball hit #7 yellow dead bumper it would ring up a point, but number #7 red still stays lit. If I use my finger to trigger the skirt they alternate back and forth every time, but when the ball hits #7 yellow it will not. Sometimes if #6 yellow
really bangs the ball into #7 yellow it will light, but not every time.

Any ideas?

Quoted from HowardR:

If those bumpers score 1 point, check these switches.
For a switch to work 3 things are necessary:
1) When open, there should be a small space between the contact points (duh)
2) When closing, the long blade's contact point should push the short blade's contact point enough to move the short blade
3) The contact points should be clean, which they usually will be if #2 is happening[quoted image]

I see what you mean, thanks for the detailed reply.

When I push the skirt down with my finger the short blade does move a bit, but the ball is not causing as much down pressure as my finger. When comparing the gap between the contacts on the switches that are ok, #7 yellow is open a bit wider. Time to read up on adjusting contacts.......I’m a novice at this, but have been learning rapidly, thanks to guys like you.

Read this section a couple of times. Also get a switch adjusting tool (preferably a set with different angles)

Finally got it!!! The spoon switch under #7 yellow was fine. There is a bank of seven switches under the board that flip the light to the corresponding number when hit. #7 yellow switch needed cleaned.

Thanks for your help
