GI Reset on WPC

Hey guys, I'm fixing up a Party Zone that has been giving me fits for months. The GI wiring was completely hacked and the pins/connectors melted. I think I've sorted it out now and am confident in the wiring. However, whenever the GI power at J115 is plugged in, the machine boots and goes into attract mode fine and lights look great, but when I hit the start button it resets instantly and makes a clicking noise. When the GI power connector is not plugged in the game plays with no resets and unfortunately no lights... Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

If you are certain it is wired correctly and there are no shorts with the solder at the pins, I would check the voltages at the GI pins. There might be a bad component in the GI circuit drawing too much juice.

Pull all of the GI fuses and see if the problem goes away. Then add them back one at a time until the problem comes back. That will at least narrow it down to an individual circuit.

As SealClubber said you could also test the voltages for each circuit and see if one of them give an odd reading.

Thanks! I just sent the boards out for repair so that should take care of it.
