Oooh yummy! I have an eye condition which makes me especially susceptible to flicker and I'm really looking forward to seeing this come to fruition. LEDOCD is already on my list of things to get, though I still in the process of purchasing my first pin and have yet to pick it up (it's STTNG, conveniently enough).

I suspect it's some function of frame-per-section plus shutter speed. If we assume FPS is 60, we have 1/60 between frames. But that's not necessarily how fast the shutter might be going. In high light, it might be only opening 1/500 of a second for each frame. In low light, that's generally not the case, however. It's further complicated if using rolling shutter.

I'm not a professional film-maker either though Just know enough to be dangerous with my GoPro and make fun SCUBA videos. The above just shows that video can, and does, lie. I suspect trying to get it to tell the truth in this case is going to be really difficult.
