Hey guys,

Have had some weird power issues in my game room that seems to have effected the 5V on most of my 90s BW games. Now, all of the sudden the GI on my MET Premium is flickering/strobing. Like about to send me into a full seizure its so bad. Not playable. Has anyone seen this before or have a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Bumping this thread. First time I didn't get a reply to a tech issue. This has me worried. LOL. Beuhler?

What ultimately fixed this issue for me was turning the GI brightness level down. Hasn't happened once since doing that.

There are a couple threads on this. Search ac/dc GI lights flickering. I had this issue too. You need to disconnect the wires and then put them back on the power bridge. It’s inside the backbox on the left side.

Mine was the red and black connector on the board directly in the middle underneath the playfield. The connector is on the top right of the board next to the grey cat cable. I reseated it and also reseated the other end in the backbox that is connected with a Z connector. Reseating these made my seizure like flicker go away. Sorry going from memory but can try to post pics when I get home in a few days.

Also some other suggestions in this thread. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/metallica-premium-gi-flicker-problem#post-3825698

I just replaced that connector on my game because it was getting hot and discolored. The new connector is fine, no more problem.

I had this issue today. I did them both at the same time so I'm not sure if it was the suggestions of @bradytogronk or @oshara but either way it was fixed so thank you to you both

This happened to me a second time. I just reseated the gray Cat cable and the red/black one next to it. It's the board in the center, top right with the playfield put up. It was highly seizure inducing. That warning is no joke!

Not that I doubt this fixed it, but you may want to consider replacing the power connector on that board as it appears to be burnt (could be a shadow). It's possible you are inadvertently improving the connection on that connector when you are reseating the data connector.

I agree, the power connector looks heat damaged and should be replaced. I used trifurcon pins on the new connector for my game.
