So I finally got to play both. First time. I played gb, then th then gb then th. A few games each time. I've never gotten into a pinside flame war and I don't intend to now. But to me, there was no contest. Gb seemed like a child's toy. Admittedly, the shots were smooth and fun, but it just felt cheap. Th also had great flowy shots but felt solid. Art was different (and to my eyes better) on th.

My biases do include the fact that I don't own any sterns. I have mostly Williams/Bally pins, desw and woz. I've always thought desw felt cheap (though I love it anyway). So to me, th seemed like the successor to this lineup.

In answer to someone's question, I believe I played a gb pro. I wish I could find an le to play. Gotta see the ghost slings and the goggles(?).

I'm piping in with a meta comment that it's nice to hear some real opinions and responses without making it a fight. I played both. Very fun. I definitely liked hobbit more (and ordered one) but both were awesome. To me, DMD on a new game just seems out of place.

I played gb on location at an arcade, so I assume it was a pro. Probably not a fair direct comparison, I know. I'd love to see a gble. I'm in idaho and don't know of anyone that got one.

I just caught up with this thread and now have a real opinion. Admittedly I have only played gb pro and on location (multiple) but I will no longer play that game. Even if it’s free. I’d rather play nothing. Too cheap and frustrating.

Hobbit on the other hand, I really enjoy. I own it but it’s at my brothers house so I don’t play that often. Much more enjoyable for me every time.
