Just had a look at mine. CN 16 is the correct location on the left hand node board. Here is a thought. When just looking at my shaker, it looks like the shaker metal housing is installed over the ground brade. Have a look at the 2 wires that are going into the shaker. Make sure the positive wire isn't somehow contacting the shaker motor housing. This would cause a direct short to ground and punch the board components. When I bought mine, I didn't like how much bare wire was left exposed before it was soldered into the motor connector. I cut it of and resoldered the wire so the insulation was very close to the eyelet.
