Has anyone installed a playfield protector on GB premium? With all the dimpling wear I'm hearing about, I am considering installing one before I ever play the game. Is it worth it? Do these protectors affect game play and do they hold up? Thanks

dimples are normal. I am not with mine, and I don't worry about dimpling. Only the clear cracking at the shooter lane and drain.
I would get the air ball protector at the left ramp and then cliffy's where you can.
I did. My good friend acquired a GBLE NIB and was very concerned about the ghosting issues due to ball impacts on inserts. He ordered one and I installed it for him before he played the machine. With the way the playfield components came off its not difficult and it took me about 2 hrs to complete. The protector is a bit tricky to get over the pops and the lanes at the top but if your patient, it shouldn't be a problem. I highly recommend the protector for that game. He loves the way the machine looks and plays with the protector. I have protectors on my Hobbit, TOTAN and CV. Hope this helps. feel free to PM me with any other questions.
I did too, installing takes a while, you have to dismantle quite a bit, it plays a bit better with the protector installed since it slows down the ball and therefor I notice less airballs. However it does not prevent ghosting, some inserts started ghosting even after I installed the protector

Protector goes on clean playfield or wax it then put it down? I've heard both. But to wax it first so the protector will come off easier to replace.

We are very interested in ideas and responses to this. We have emailed playfield protectors for info but they must all be at Texas! We Novus no1 & 2 on both sides of the protector and playfield before installation. We waxed the playfield after that thinking it would work. All the wax has come off and you can see the wax particles under the playfield protector. Waxing for us is definitely out. Novus no1 & 2 we are not sure of yet.
If you guys that have fitted the playfield protectors and are happy please pose how you did it.
Many thanks
