Quoted from cabuford:This drives me nuts on league nights!
Thankfully with this game, all you have to do is "skill shot cheat" your way into WBTD, hit 3 shots for $21Mil, hit the "skill shot cheat" on your other 2 balls, and perhaps even start SF MB, and you're going to win your grouping. Even without the MB, just the 3 cheats and completing WBTD is usually enough for me to guarantee 2nd, if not 1st.
This way you don't need to know score, since the game refuses to tell you!
Quoted from ScottyC:what's the skill shot cheat?
Is that the short plung in the lane and then hit it just right before it falls all the way down?
Correct. And I believe on Ball 1 you get 1mil + WBTD mode start. Balls 2 and 3 I think are +10% of your score.
Quoted from DNO:...added Easter egg with programmer credits....
Lol it was my first thought too and laughed crazy hard that was the first reply! Well done.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Stern could be taking a completely different approach with this game and come out and say "We hear you, we are going to address your concerns, and deliver a great code update for Ghostbusters". That would create a bunch of goodwill but instead they are doing the exact opposite.
What boggles my mind is that pinball is such a fun product, and a cool one at that. Stern should be embracing the fact they are the leader in this recreational hobby and be engaging with their customers and fans in a manner that reflects the industry they are in. This isn't something as boring as washing machines... or even Dunder Mifflin paper. This is a colorful, vibrant industry that deals with freggin GAMES.
Yet despite all that, these overly scripted blurbs from their marketing (and probably legal) group sound so forced... so prepared... so corporate... the opposite of how one would imagine a company in this industry to operate. They don't need to be wildly unprofessional, but hell, stop acting so robotic with this all.
Something like "Regarding GB code, we hear you and apologize for the delays. Our programming staff is currently tied down with our next two games, and here's a peak at one of them (insert zoomed in teaser pic of something small). We aim to have GB code completed by the end of this year, and if we don't meet that deadline, Gary will take a shot of raw goat milk during the next DeadFlip gameplay stream of our latest title (insert second teaser pic)."
Boom. It's an update, something to generate hype for an upcoming game, and something fun. Obviously I swung the pendulum a bit far in the opposite direction with the raw goat milk, but I think somewhere between goat milk and their shitty canned responses, there's opportunity for much better and EFFECTIVE communication.
Quoted from Rarehero:I'd say that anything with bugs or obvious missing things is "unfinished". Seems like GB falls into this category. WOF falls into that category. Not sure about other recent games...
I believe WWE (LE) falls into this category as well. From what I recall hearing, on the LE there are controlled gates at the top. In order to beat either a wizard, mini-wizard, or some main mode, you have to get the ball in the ring. However the code keeps the gates open during this time which creates an orbit.
I also believe this is only an issue on the LE as I think the Pro has one gate that's a passive one-way gate so the player just has to use the ramp that will get the block to the ring.
But still... pretty crazy the LE version of a game is in theory impossible to complete.
