Quoted from Hammer97e:Nice! What speaker light kit do you have? Thanks!
I 3D printed the assembly and bought these LED strips:
theyre about 20 bucks and give some cool effects
I might, as for right now im still trying to perfect the design and some code. Also, Puft only walks whenever the LED inside him is triggered for a specific amount of time. This is done through a photoresistor. Currently he only walks once during storage facility lock (meaning the servo will go right-left-center), and forever during staypuft mode until the mode is finished. Main problem im having right now is that he shakes a bit too much during walking sequence.
If im happy with the outcome i will update here
Quoted from PeterG:I have one from I think Mezelmods. That is triggered on the Lock light. But only work when lock is lit not when it is flashing.
A photoristor is a difficult solution since the environment is different in each gameroom and you get interference from surrounding leds. Better to use the signal from a light directly. Are you using arduino for this?
The photoresistor is inside mr puft and triggers the walking sequence after certain values have been met. The thing with photoresistors is that they pick up values, meaning they can detect how bright the light being shined is. This makes me able to create algorithms (with the arduino, yes) to detect in what stage the game is. Example: If photoresistor value = 550 (this means the very bright flash inside puft is active) for longer than 200 milliseconds, trigger walking. After testing a bunch and seeing when the lights inside puft trigger, i have come to the conclusion that the flash inside puft is only active for this duration when either a ball gets locked or Stay Puft mode is active. Nothing else!
Quoted from cottonm4:Those are pretty slick.
Amazon sells too many kinds to count. Are they all the same or is there a preference?
Thanks

Its a 5v strip meaning youd have to get a dc to dc converter, you can then hook it up to the 12v connector in the backbox.
Thank you all for your interest!
I will update my first post and add names there. If more than 20 are interested ill create my own thread about the mod .
Yea this is kind of getting out of hand LOL. I will start a new thread and post the pictures + current list of interested people there.
Although the design looks to be there, theres still some flaws i would like to work out before i even think about selling. I do not want this to be some rushed product that could break/give headaches.
When do i think it will be done? Early to mid January. Current situation is that i think the servo is a little too weak to move puft from side to side, so i am experimenting with different ones now. I want the left-center-right motion to be as smooth as possible (my inner perfectionism is hitting me hard right now). Aside from that i also need to get PCBs done that power puft, which will be a lot easier than trying to fit a servo into a really crowded area...
Ok! See you all in the walking puft thread!
When i turn my volume up or down on my gb premium it makes this popping noise, same whenever the scare feature happens/volume changes by certain game modes. Is this normal? Have a feeling the coils in the backbox might be causing this, idk.
Added this goofy looking mod
EDIT: I added the file to thingiverse, here is the link https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5795245
