Hey guys,

Just joined the club yesterday with this Pro. Its dusty, but will clean up real nice. These games are a beauty. On the pro model does the puft man do anything? I see wires running up to him but didn't see him move or anything. Just lights? Are there any mods to make him animated? That's a cool toy that could have done "more".

Cheers

Thanks for some of the input on the puft man. Any good tutorial videos you guys recommend. I've found the stern Rule sheet and will begin looking at it, but do you all have a favorite strategy for scoring?

Anyone have a premium library that they'd like to sell?

Been thinking about this myself
Looks cooler than the stock library

I saw that and will have to settle for it if I don't get a stock library. I think he has them here on Pinside for a few bucks cheaper.

Quoted from pinballslave:

I take it you upgraded the speakers on your game then...? If so, what do you recommend? I might end up with a pro... I guess an upgrade is more beneficial on the pro...

Just this week I upgraded/added an external sub. While the hook up might not be the best (alligator clipped on the existing 8 inch cabinet speaker), it sounds amazing. I had no idea the game had so many features that have a "boom" from the bass. I have never upgraded the stock speakers in my games, but I don't think an external sub can be beat for both performance and price.

I have a polk audio PSW10. To me it seemed affordable as I was able to source it second hand. This sub being an older model can be had for $50-60 used.

Well guys....after a month of owning I'm starting to find some rhythm.

Quoted from wolffcub:

The firehouse ghostbusters deserves. Prototype is finished. Just need to work on the interior furniture now. Each level is lit and the roof hole is connected to the existing flasher so it flashes purple. The pinstadium lighting also runs properly above it and does not make contact with the roof. With the rest of the lit up buildings things should tie together nicely.

I'm in for one!

wolffcub There seems to be decent interest in the fire house mod. Let us know if we need to pm you to get on a formal list or what not.

6 of them are almost finished. Just finishing the interior details.

Do you have a list of who is getting one and who is not? Other than users saying "count me in" or "+1" I haven't seen any confirmation on your end.

Aflac

Quoted from Swoods5688:

So after 3 years of of owning a pro I finally landed a premium for an upgrade. While previous I have maybe 4-5 games on a premium I was nervous how I was going to like the added features mainly the magna slings. But I must say this game being my Grail game in the pro the premium has far exceeded my expectations and put this game at a whole new level for me! This is my desert island pinball and I just keep finding new things in the game I didn’t know before. Regardless pro or premium this game kicks ass!

Damn it, lol. I've been tossing around the idea of upgrading to a premium and reading something like this adds to the fire.

Hey folks,

The slimer on my GB pro is beginning to make an intermittent grinding/binding noise. From reading some older threads it seems the motor may need to be replaced. Just curious if anyone has replaced the stock motor with the one from pinball life? If so, how's it holding up?

https://www.pinballlife.com/stern-motor-24-vdc-12-rpm-no-harness.html

Thanks

#11435 1 year ago
Quoted from Pinkitten:

How many plays on yours? Just curious if these Slimer motors are wearing out after so many plays. How much is the replacement?

I would say 2000-2500 plays...the kids and I certainly use it. The replacement motor from Pinball life is $69.95 plus shipping ($15 is the cheapest option).

Quoted from zephee:

Had the same issue on my pro. The noise was awful. All it took was some silicon wd-40 on the top and bottom of motor and no more issues.

So far this is working…hopefully it lasts! Thanks for the tip.
