The best "mod" i've done to my Pro so far was putting black bands back on the flippers. I bought my machine used, and someone had glow in the dark Superbands on it. They were ridiculously bouncy, and made it very hard to ever trap a ball or post save it. Since the switch, the left ramp is much easier to backhand off the left flipper, and ball control is far better.

Between the big 3d ghost on the left and Ecto 1 over the firehouse shot, aren't those two shots harder to see now?

Shoot, I'm lucky to get 2 billion with the center post in.

"Are you a god" mode has its own audit screen. Bullshit it wasn't meant to be in there. As for being able to select the ladder...you should be able to select the lowest rung not completed in a ladder, from any given ladder. That way you don't jump right to the highest scoring ladder first. Make the shortest ladders harder than the "Who Brought the Dog" ladder. Move the "add 10% to your score" skill shot over to the right ramp so that the reward better matches the skill needed to make the shot.

In a HUO environment, Cliffy's are probably not necessary. Make sure the drop targets are adjusted flush with the tops of the Cliffy's as well.

Quoted from wtatumjr:

I finally cut the Scoleri's off - I think it makes the game a bit better.

I like the Scoleri targets during normal gameplay, but find them annoying during multiball.

And that's why I'm done buying Dwight coded games. Stern checks in on this thread from what I understand, and they still have zero concern for losing sales going forward. I guess they feel they are too big to fail.

#5936 5 months ago

They just did a run at the very end of 2018.

Quoted from FlippinJB:

Good call, Lamprey. I'm with you, and I'd also write a letter - perhaps the GB-owning community could unite in flooding Stern with requests to actually finish the expensive game we paid for!

I have contacted them many times, and they don't care. Most i've gotten is "its on the schedule".

So I measured the flipper gap in my Ghostbusters and GOTG machines. GB is about 2.625" and GOTG is about 2.062". I think I am going to 3d print a new flipper bat that is
.281" longer and then fab up a mount like the old 2 piece Gottlieb System 80b and System 3 flippers and give it a try.

Quoted from Who-Dey:

I heard Jack Danger say that a GB code update is coming reql soon!

I heard an update was coming "real soon" year ago. Right after Star Wars hit 1.0.

Quoted from Budman:

Do you think a meaningful code update would stir demand and thus, production of additional Premiums ?

Stern hasn't officially sundowned GB yet. They usually post on FB when they are doing the last run of something. Metallica was a few months ago, and Star Trek was this week. I know there was a batch of GB pros going through in the last month or so, according to someone who went on a factory tour. If code does finally come, you can bet there will be a few new sales at least. So it would behoove Stern to keep that item number open for production until at least that time.

#6131 3 months ago
Quoted from Willy39:

Ghostbusters is in the archived section of the games page on Sterns website. To me that means this game is no longer in production. Maybe they let it go quietly in order not to upset anyone that this game is old news to Stern.

It's been archived for the better part of a year, and I know for a fact GB has has several batches run through late last year. The batch this year is not fact, but I strongly believe the person who reported it isn't BSing.

Quoted from brandonx76:

Does anyone know if there's a way to change game play for ball drains so that another ball is auto plunged instead of drained? Maybe a game/config setting? Trying to setup to make it easier for some visiting family / kids. Was thinking of adding some sort of bumper on the drains but would rather not 'mod' the game/playfield.
Any info appreciated

What about blocking the outlanes all together? I could draw up a clip-on 3D printed piece that would snap over the inside wireforms on the outlanes and then make it so the ball can't drain on the outlanes. No permanent damage to the machine, and they would snap on and off easily. An even more quick and dirty fix would be to zip tie between the wire form and the adjustable outlane post.

#6135 3 months ago
Quoted from brandonx76:

Yeah that would be cool, I don't have a 3D printer personally but may be interested in buying something someone may have already designed...I like the idea of trying a zip tie, I may give that a shot. I guess nothing's available in the code today (i.e. super easy mode, lol).

Try the zip tie out and see if you like it...I can 3d model that piece up pretty easily, and you can just buy it printed from shapeways at your leisure after I prove it out.

OMG, I thought this was a joke.

For the kids man! Haha

I bought a 1 year old GOTG with $14k on it when I bought it. I think it was in Sunshine.

Anyone else see this yesterday? A friend of mine sent it to me but when I went to check it had already been deleted.[quoted image]

Stern is just trolling us.
Although Stern of the Union is this week, right?

Daydreaming here, but if Stern one day decided to adapt the machine into the Spike2 format with LCD and made the new run of playfields with proper flipper gap/sling angles, this game would probably their best game ever. One can dream!

Quoted from imharrow:

Can we stop this ignorant meme. If you think this, I am pretty sure you have never spoken to Dwight in your life. Stop the personal attacks on him. You can complain about the business unit and the decisions they make. You can complain about Gomez, as the person accountable for those business decisions.

Did you watch the Dwight interview? He pretty much thinks GB is in good shape.

Today 30 months of no code, yeah! Or will they suprise us in the Stern of the Union today?

Don't bet on it.

#6445 51 days ago

I'd be happy to be able to see my score and ball number for more than 3.7 seconds of a 5 minute game

#6450 51 days ago

Reminds me of how I was going to 3D pint out a more accurate master and make some resin copies off a mold, but never got around to finishing it. Maybe one day!

We all saw the Dwight interview...he wanted to fix GOT way more than GB. He thought GB was in decent shape.
