Quoted from MustangPaul:

But it could be a chore to find Pro related posts mixed in with the Premium and LE posts and vice versa.

Yeah but most of the posts will be related to all. If split you'll ultimately will need to follow both to get everything that relates to both, and there will be a ton of overlap to weed through.

I got my Winston/Ghost head toy today at Walmart. Had to go to four Walmarts to find one. The only other one I saw was a Ray all by itself.

20160511_135343_(resized).jpg20160511_135343_(resized).jpg

The store I found it at had a full set but tucked way up on their overflow shelf. They didn't have a spot for them. I debated getting all of them but since I just wanted the Ghost head for the flasher, I passed. Too bad they were $20 each!

Quoted from swinks:

I have been sitting on this mod for a while and finished off the universal mount bracket so this can now be mounted to a side panel or base panel or a overhead panel - with no screws and easily relocatable with no damage. the window is approximately 38mm square with both panels front and back back lit.

Got an example of what this would look like in the game? Where are you intending?

#332 7 years ago

Just got informed by my distributer over the weekend that my pro has been pushed back until July, after the LEs and a Premium run. So much for having it in time for my son's graduation party June 4th. Not very pleased about this.

$500 safe in my pocket.

For $200 I'd be all over that! They'd still make a hefty profit.

New Pro Siderails

Where did you get those. They look great!

#688 7 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

That German company, Pinball Center. 89 euros so with shipping about $150

Looks like we have another case of needing a US supplier to start offering them. Those are sweet but I doubt many people would pay to ship individually.

Or a lighter spring switch. I wonder if cherry makes different weights in those tiny micoswitches like they did in he arcade button micro switches.

Groovy Game Gear has an adjustable microswitch...

OK I haven't been a huge fan of the Sigma stuff because I like the colored dots only, but man is that RGB integration cool! Nice feature! I might get one of these when they are released for GB as a kit, then wait for the color dots.

#893 7 years ago

Are the Spike versions fully "kitted" now, or do we have to put together the parts needed to convert an existing ColorDMD Sigma to fit Spike? I don't want to mess with having to put together a third party power accessory board with a kit. Would rather have the entire kit in one purchase from ColorDMD.

#896 7 years ago
Quoted from Fortytwo:

Just my 2 cents. I agree with John T I don't really look at the screen while playing. I have no need to get a color dmd for GB. I could buy a Bally ss project for that price.
Second thought. There are not that many spike games yet. If sterns next non novelty release is a color dmd. What's the pay off vs return for color dmd to develope specifically for spike? And they run the risk of stern getting a clue and offering a retrofit kit for all spikes using their new lcd screen.

I would bet Stern would charge $1000 for what ColorDMD does for $400. My big concern would be Stern forcing ColorDMD to not make SPIKE kits like they've done with other mod devs.

#930 7 years ago
Quoted from CaptainNeo:

that's fine. Just seems a lot of times, mods becomes more priority than the game itself in many aspects.

I think you'd see less mod talk if Stern would start shipping games again. I've bought a few mods just because I'm tired of waiting for the game I was supposed to get two months ago.

Got my Candy Raspberry coated armor today

Lets see some pics of the full cabinet in a lit room. I bet that looks amazing!

#949 7 years ago
Quoted from CaptainNeo:

Wow, $300 and you had to supply the metal as well? They should be happy with your business because they are charging enough. contact paul at virtruapin.net. He offers powdercoating with the hardware included for a much more reasonable price.

This link doesn't work

-never mind. I got it. Duh.

So now all the LEs are shipping out, and I expect to see Premiums going next. I've heard Pros are trickling out slowly too. I'm #26 at my distributor for a Pro and not expecting until late August. Anyone know of any distributors who have any Pros available sooner? I plan to call around but thought I'd ask here first.

#1083 7 years ago

Picked up my USB drive to use for updates yesterday in the Back to School section at Walmart. Although it might now be big enough for all the stuff in the updates!

After a bunch of production delays and being too far down the backorder list, I changed distributors and I have a Pro! All there is left to do is schedule the delivery. I can't wait to get this thing!

#1164 7 years ago
Quoted from Junglist:

Those of you who just received "Pros" in the last week or so, can you say what the date is on your playfield, the date of manufacture on the back of the box and whether you have the new or old slimer mech? Also what version of code that was on it would be great too! Trying to see if its newer ones shipping than in Johns Arcade video:

Thanks!

I was just watching that last night. I would have been pissed if I was told it was a new machine and I got that one after waiting so long.

#1211 7 years ago

Finally got my new GB Pro last night. I have the typo playfield, but the new Slimer mech. The game plays great. A friend and I played over 50 games last night any only got Storage multiball once. Got to "play better". I had the occasional airball and Scolari Bro target not drop problem, but nothing nearly as bad as I've heard others talk about. I'm really surprised how well it played. I didn't get many center drains off of the popups or Slimer either. Only one roll-over side drain. I think they raised the side lanes from the first one I played, but not 100% sure.

One thing I saw briefly was that it looks like Slimer took a little minor damage early on. Had a small chunk on the playfield after a couple games. I barely saw it and don't know where it came from. May just have come off of the roughly drilled hole at the bottom.

Personal opinion, but I reckon a shaker is a must have on this game.
Adds another dimension to the gameplay.

I agree! Glad I added one to my Pro!

I did a few of the common mods to my GB Pro. Really happy how it turned out!

Quoted from Nightmare:

Where are you getting the shaker?

I got mine from Pinball Life. $99.95 http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=3710

#1277 7 years ago
Quoted from Bay78:

Do you have to drill holes on a spike game to add a shaker?

Actually there are t-nuts waiting for the motor! It is very simple to add.

#1312 7 years ago
Quoted from delt31:

OK - thanks for the explanation. I actually like that modes need to be completed to advance but making them occur randomly would prob be the better choice. It's like Jurassic Park where the first mode was always X and now with the updated code it's random.
I'm getting the GB itch. The theme alone sold me and it seems like the gameplay is holding up.

The difference is that in JP the modes aren't in chronological order. You can't randomize the GB modes. They follow the progression of the movie. How can you get do the ballroom before "We Got One"? Also, how can you do Stay Puft before the end? Three ladders allows for variety, unlike JP where there is only one ladder.
