Played 6 games on my Pro tonight everything working OK , on the 7th game Noticed that hitting the ghost target would not drop slimmer. I did a switch test and the ghost switch was working fine. Raised the play field and checked for loose or broken wires none found and everything else looked OK. Played another game and hit ghost target and slimmer worked again. Any idea what my have caused this?
Thanks

Played a couple of game this morning , same thing happened. Messed around under the play field and played a game and slimmer worked again.

Did you accidentally install Pro code instead of Premium/LE?

Pretty sure it was Pre but that would make perfect sense.
Will check and confirm that.
Thanks

Hey folks I noticed the flasher dome on the ghost trap is shorter than my other one so I designed 3 to go on top. This one is the Smoothest Fine Plastic in clear, it can also be ordered in green, pink or any color you want. I have the other 2 styles arriving tomorrow but for now this one fits.

I'll post the link as soon as all are available.

Quoted from gweempose:

I'm really digging the new code, but there is one thing I'd like to see changed. It kind of bugs me that at the beginning of the game the "Start Scene" skill shot automatically starts WBTD. I'd rather it be changed to a "Qualify Scenes" skill shot, so you can choose which ladder you want to start on.

if you start a new game, push back the plunger and wait for the ball to come out of the trough and hit it as soon as possible,
there is a high chance the ball wont trigger the switch in front of the plunger. its a different, faster way of doing the "skillshot exploit".
Let the ball rest for 1 sec and choose your skillshot, this way it will not happen. even when choosing HBTD you shouldnt hard plunge,
because you can now additionally get the PKE skillshot. so its a 2 shot skillshot now.
i`m hard plunging anyway because it bores me to wach the ball slowly finding its way through PKE

i also find it strange they didnt fix it... in the presentation video they said they did so and even made a ironic joke about it?

Ok folks, here is the first link for the slime cover for the trap facility. It fits perfectly and comes in all sorts of colors including the basic pink and green. This green pretty much matches the Slimer bash. I wish it could come in lime green but they don't offer that option.

This is shown in clear "Smoothest Fine Detail" which can be painted with Tamiya clear lime green and the light will still shine through.

Which ever ladder you pick as your skill shot, will start that ladder. Not sure what you mean it always starts wbtd?

But they aren’t right. The left ramp skill shot doesn’t start a mode. It awards an SJP in the new code. Not sure about the scoop, but the right orbit may be the only skill shot that starts a mode.

#7359 4 years ago

My left ramp and scoop start that mode

#7360 4 years ago
Quoted from finnflash:

My left ramp and scoop start that mode

Ever since I’ve started playing the new code I’ve never gotten a mode start on the left ramp. Only SJP. Maybe they change depending on your settings. I was playing default settings.

Same here, I haven't changed anything.

Did you update the code? Haha

#7363 4 years ago

Yeah.lol
I need to pay attention more, but sometimes I get the SJP. Not sure if its everytime, but I recall the mode always starting.

Yeah me too. I went back and watched the reveal stream and it said start scene on the left ramp and scoop. Watched papa tv tonight and it was SJP. Weird.

#7365 4 years ago

Hmmm, my game reset after reaching WCWS. Just total dark and nothing then reset. Also the left ball post in the left orbit is not always going down completely, so the ball gets stuck there. After ball search it pops up and then levels with the playfield. Need to see if that is mechanical.

this will be changed in the next patch, Dwights statement

#7367 4 years ago

Question for you guys... recently ive noticed that it seems like my magna slings are lifting the ball ever so slightly when engaging heavily. I can hear the ball dropping ever so slightly. I do have the rubbers flipped for more action but I dont recall this happening before recently. Im not sure if its the new code or if there is a setting for the magna slings?

Any ideas?

Ok folks here are the links, I finally got everything set up. If you order 1 of each of the 3 the total will be $42, but all 3 as a set will cost you $35. If you order individually you can mix and match the colors, but order all 3 you can only order them in one color.

As all things in a pinball machine if these are hit by an airball they can break, but so do all things that can be hit with an airball. These are solid resin, not PLA printed with a honeycomb structure that can crumble. These are just as solid as something that is a cast production piece. There are fine details on these and can snap if squeezed too hard or handled irresponsibly. But once installed they should be just as permanent as any other addition to your machine.

These were modeled by me and have a lot of detail for such a small piece. Just be gentle while installing. You can secure these with double sided tape, rubber cement, I would NOT suggest super glue as these might need to be removed later for moving, cleaning, or general service. They stay on just fine and should not come off unless you are a Tilt junkie and turn the whole machine 60-90 degrees.

Would be nice if Stern updated thier Iso page to host 1.16 so I could burn the image to my SD.

Stupid machine is the only Stern I own that refuses to update. I've replaced every component in the back box and this pos still won't update.

Here are just some from others. I like this company BTW, and each new mod they get looks better and better, but the resin ones are still higher quality. The slimer bash assembly is only $25 and has way more material in it than these.

The flasher domes are $13-$15 and have more detail and are much higher quality. And the second picture is the only other bash assembly slime you can get, which probably costs more than mine.

I am shapeways biased as well so I say congrats on the designs UrethraFranklin , and it takes some skill to design in a sculptural way.

What a lot of people don’t realise is these shapeways parts are solid nylon so are very durable and won’t warp with heat (from lighting or sunlight) or degrade. Some other products and their creators do a awesome job with their creative designs but some of their mods are made by home printers with some being hollow printed, some are brittle, some show largish print lines.

Also most of the charge is shapeways manufacturing and profit charge rate with the creator earning a small commission.

I want to say it WAS from Mezel but they don't offer it anymore. And I know mezel doesn't make all of them they seem to be a broker of sorts for some more independent people. I've ordered some stuff from them and I've had to wait for someone else to make it. So it might have been offered by someone else then sold through mezel but who knows why not anymore. I am really no threat to most of these mod joints as I really don't want to start an LLC or official website, these are just ones I made for myself and am offering to others.

If you have a custom request by all means let me know and I'll try to help out.

Yeah I have my MFA in 3d Modeling and Animation so I just like challenges and I did this over the course of a few months when I've had down time. I actually used the sculpting tool on most of this after I had the basic blocking done.

I would make these cheaper if I could, I put around small markup on each one, not enough to bat an eye at, but if I sold enough I'd have enough store credit to order prototypes to test out instead of constantly being out of pocket. I can by all mean mark these up a lot but I figured the cheaper they were compared to whats out there the smaller commissions add up more than large commissions through fewer sales.

The Slimer bash assembly was actually a request Jenni asked for as the other one shown wasn't available anymore. I was also hoping someone would want to order a couple of the flasher covers in red for a Dracula or Tales from the Crypt, if someone has those in their collection I will buy them at cost for you as long as you're willing to pay the shipping and possible rush fees.

I really like all the mods you are making. Have you thought about designing the slime without all the round “balls” all over? Just a thought. I think it would match my slime on the speaker panel and coin door.
Looking forward to what you come up with next.

I own a Pro and added the Premium library. I was having an issue with airballs getting caught behind the library.

After some troubleshooting, I added the Ecto 1 plastic (along with a metal bracket and 3M tape) as a deflector. If you’re having the same problem, this works great.

Well...add me to the list of folks that have issues with one of the Scoleri drop targets. Diagnostics tests for Nunzio right drop target, work fine, up and down as expected. During gameplay, however, target comes up fine when mode begins, but no amount of beating on the target, will get Nunzio to drop. Tony (left drop target) works perfect, as expected. I've tried to adjust the spring on Nunzio, and I've ordered new springs from PinballLife, but...I can't get anything to register collision during gameplay. I find that weird, considering diag tests, it works fine.

Any ideas?

I've also got a Scoleri brothers question. Although my behavior is a little different:

I'm finding that my left pop up will work but then after he is dropped, he continues to click as if he hasn't dropped or is trying to pop back up or something. In the game I've seen it result in it thinking he is still up and not counting them both as being down. In the test menu it's working 70% of the time but 30% of the time it doesn't pop up. If i just run the test it always eventually works, just not necessarily the first couple button presses.

Overall it's not an issue where it doesn't stay up or doesn't drop, it's actually that it doesn't pop up sometimes, and then continues to "click" while it's trying to sort itself out. I'm not sure what to adjust or what to look at it. The mechanism looks fine... any tips appreciated!

I have mentioned it before but my Tony Scoleri insert LED is out and I had previously emailed support but have since called it in and zero response. Bigger fish to fry I suppose but I just want the light to work. DUMB design.

Had a similar issue, but both drop targets were affected. A connector came lose at the nodeboard

I'll take a look, I did a quick test and I can tell now in the GB test that it's not detecting the opto switch as closed when the target drops. Hopefully just need to clean it or make sure it's connected properly.

Is it just me, or does the GB operation manual not contain any details on the drop targets assemblies? Does anyone know where I can get some details so I can troubleshoot the drop target?

I believe they are standard Stern drop target mechs. They should be pretty much the same as the drops in every other Stern game.

Has anyone updated the new code to remove/swap out "the cat" from the ecto goggles?

The other day I managed to get 50,000,000 on Mass Hysteria - EXACTLY 50!

I've seen a few people ask about the cat being removed. What is the reasoning behind this request?

The cat has a tainted reputation acquired from its owner, the designer of this game.

But why just remove the cat? The whole machine was designed by him. Seems like if you have a problem with anything tied to the designer, you'd probably realign your moral compass by just selling the machine off entirely? Getting hung up on the small details like the cat just seems like silly nitpicking at this point.

So true.

I look at it this way, GB was worked on by dozens of people, far more than just the designer. The designer however is a convicted felon and has a personal item in the game with that being an animation of his cat in the Ecto Goggles. No one else that worked on the game has something personal on that level in the game.

I think the designer should have that personal touch stripped away considering what he did. I don't want to see a convicted felons cat in the game, he lost that privilege with the sick crime he committed.
