Sweet! Welcome Back!
Not sure if you know about Swinks "upgraded" target brackets, but I'd highly suggest getting some:
https://www.shapeways.com/product/GRBNG4DQK/stern-target-bracket-v2-5deg2mm?optionId=63971960&li=marketplace
They seem to solve 99% of the air balls from the targets on either side of the left ramp. So, no need for an unsightly plastic air ball protector.

Great to know will do

Edit - I'm assuming I need to buy two or do they come as pair and how hard to install?

Did you go LCD or LED ?

No question LCD. I go LCD as the LED, although brighter is just not as nice and you lose the options of dots display

Think of selling my GBLE. Lots mods too.
In great shape. On the fence since new code is coming out (someday)!
Not sure - thoughts on what I should do? Any interest if I sell, PM me. If I sell it will be through Pinside.[quoted image][quoted image]

Does anyone know if you can change the auto launch strength? I was looking last night and couldnt find the setting.

#6607 4 years ago

Okay GB fans ...

So I Own a Pro Model and played a Premium on location

I enjoyed the lock and slimer moving left and right

Never saw the etco goggle feature work unless the tiny display was broken ..

Explain the Pros and Cons on to either keep my current HUO loaded Pro Vs a Prem

I love my Pro - no regrets

If there is a section in this post please lmk

We’re ready to believe you !!

Magna Slings are awesome and they suck. Great most of the time because they do crazy stuff. But when they throw the ball STDM or set the ball there and it drops, you feel cheated. Maybe center post resolves this.

Also the right ramp has to use a lower hex post. It's still a tough shot but feels great when you make it. I can sometimes backhand it from a cradle.

Metal left ramp is great. Moving Slimer is great.

Premium is harder overall but has more wow factor when playing.

some really cool mods on there. where did you get the subway car and ghost in electric chair?

Ive seen that subway car being sold before. its really nice looking but couldnt get it because it completely blocks the PKE letters.

Interesting. Ive never had my magna slings throw it down like that. Lower hex post on the right ramp? is this for the Pro? Ive never had to do that on my premium..

And agree with everything else. Also to note, my octo goggles almost always shows something.

can you or someone post a pic of the hex that needs to be removed?

Im curious why people feel this needs to be done. If its simply to make the shot easier, then thats not for me. I dont like changing how the game is supposed to play.

Quoted from Rager170:

It doesn't make the shot easier. I believe the issue is that, like many owners, I raised the angle of the flippers to be even with the return lanes. The result is the right ramp is now so far at the end that the ball speed is slower, so it can't make it around the loop. One game I had 7 ramp rejects in a row. The ball would almost make it around, then fall back.

If you're not having that problem, then no need to make a change. But if you are, the hex post under the ramp on the right side can be replaced with a shorter one, 1 5/8".

Its a hard shot but it will make it with a good shot. I feel like people really like to mess around with this table, changing flippers and adding posts and stuff...

Thanks for the explanation.

Premium / LE is probably Sterns most loaded game to date, can't go wrong it. Metal subway ramp that drops underplayfield with physical ball lock, magna slings, moving Slimer, PKE ramp, actual 3D molded features, and more.

Yeah, you need two.

Pretty easy install. Maybe 10-15 minutes from start to finish.

#6617 4 years ago

I’ll be listing a Pro soon for 4350 OBO soon. Couple led mods and slime plastic protectors. New slimer and slimer motor

#6618 4 years ago

New code?

#6619 4 years ago

Someone asked me to make some slime for the top of slimer's assembly. I just had the latest file crash but this was just an initial design. Even after I design it I have to print it first before I list it.

Anyway what do you think of the first draft?

It's frustrating to have the ball go 1/2 way up the ramp then come back down on the premium. I removed the hex post entirely and the game play was much better but the ramp was a bit wobbly so I got a shorter post from Marco - it's been a while but I think it was about 3/4 inch or so.

I bought 1-7/8", 1-3/4", and 1-5/8" to see which one gave the best mix of made shots and roll backs. Let's face it, the shot should be hard but not impossible. The 1-3/4" made it on good shots and rolled back on iffy ones. That's what I stayed with. The shot is consistently makeable, but not a sure thing.

One thing that really helps is wax. I can always tell when it's time to clean. I get rollbacks when the shot looked good. A fresh coat of wax makes a big difference.

I love my GB Prem. Bought it NIB. I never really know what ball I am on. But I enjoy the game so much that I really don’t care.

When multiball starts and the game goes into Mass Hysteria mode, I don’t always know when it happens. Is there a sound or something I am missing? Sometimes I see it on the display but usually not looking. It also appears that the flippers switch back and forth so I am constantly loosing balls.

Is this just me or is this something that new code may fix? I like the code as is. But will appreciate new code when provided.

#6624 4 years ago

Not sure if this has already been posted but it can’t hurt seing it again can it?

You activate MH when you captured 100 ghosts (watch the center ladder above the outhole). And since the latest FW update (1.13), there‘s a distinct sound announcing the flipper switch. Listen for it, it‘s easy to miss with all the mayhem going on!

yes that is a frustration for many people, hopefully they implement the outlane red inserts when flippers are switched and a more distinctive sound and even an option in the menu to turn the flipper swap off.

The flipper switch when you hit the scolary brother ball.

I reckon the sound is distinctive enough
for me. I never understood the issue with this feature. Its part of the game. Switch hands works best for me.

Just finished the prototype for Slimers bash assembly. If this fits I'll post the shapeways link soon.

Can someone share a picture of the center captive ball and gate(s) area where there is a black nylon spacer? Just putting everything back together and this fell out when disassembling this area.

Thanks!

#6633 4 years ago

It fits except the front screwhole. And I can't tell which way it should go so I think I just need to make them wider for whatever tolerances you guys have. Also since it's on the bottom and you won't see it I don't see an issue taking a drill bit to it until it fits. My fix should take care of it though.

My suggestion is to order the green, then airbrush slime green for the highlights then hit it with some gloss clear. We'll see how it turns out.

Anyone else ever have an issue with the roll over in the right orbit not registering when you hit the shot too clean? I can get it to register from a backhand but it I hit the shot hard from the left flipper it doesn’t activate the switch. I’ve tried adjusting the switch but no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a piece of mylar that they put down in the orbit before the switch that makes the ball jump over the switch, peel that up and it will register everytime.
