Wow, what is it made of?

Does it light up?
Quoted from MustangPaul:Wow, what is it made of?
The ghost is 3d printed. I printed him pretty big, it's about 11" wide. The no sign is lasered pieces of wood I glued together.
Quoted from PinMonk:Does it light up?
It will, I'm gonna cut the letters out of acrylic then light that up. I am having a guy 3d print a 15" tall proton pack, we'll see how that goes though.

It's a beauty!
I've just stumbled on that 3D file online, it's fantastic and will use it for sure (in a small way). Where are you 3D printing these and how cost effective is it to do so at that size?

It's not bad, my friend printed it for me, and I just paypaled him $60 for the time to print it. It probably cost $10 to print but on a larger print you have to babysit it. I laser cut 4x .25" wood and clamped them together, the wood sheet was $8? at Home Depot. So all in all It cost about $75 to print. So not bad. The main cost was just to have my friend monitor the print, which is just a pain.
I am selling my Guardians of the Galaxy so I can get the same printer, it prints ABS and has a print field of 9"x9"x20" so I can print big. After that I'm gonna have some fun.
I normally hate filament printers because people never clean them up, never sand or paint them properly. This printer is such high resolution printer for ABS that all you need to do is use filler primer.
Lasering the no sign took about 5 minutes as opposed to having it 3d printer and probably taking 24 hours because its so big.

What is the printer model number?
Thx

I have seen a LOT of printers out there. PLA printers can range from $200-$1200 or more, but the results are usually the same. The resolution on these printers is AMAZING and it's ABS so it's a little stronger.
The basic one is 9x9x9 which is big enough for most people. My friend and I are gonna print full suits and other crazy stuff so we're getting the 9x9x20.
Here is one of my designs we're gonna go full size on, I'm making a female Rocketeer type of character.

Awesome!
I want to get a printer but unsure of model/type.
I have heard of MakerBot, Multimaker etc.
But I came across a brand called Lulzbot which looked cool - good reviews - and can do multiple materials.
Do you know anything about them?
Thx
Beats me. I have all those code threads drained because the most vocal posters are unreasonable morons who have no idea how software development, or really anything, works.

If you want a great printer for a reasonable cost then a CR10S is a great option. I have an original CR10 and it has been a great printer. I still haven't felt the need to spend the money for a higher end printer.

Software development for a code update doesn't take 30 months. Stern has coded multiple entire games over the past 30 months so yes they could easily put a code update out within that time.
The wait at this point has passed ridiculous levels, it's embarrassing. If someone at a company repeatedly told their boss for years that "the task has been delayed but remains in my schedule" they would be fired. That's how reality works.
Please come back to the thread, there's a big party next Tuesday celebrating 30 months of no code update!

My only problem with most standard printers is cleanup is such pain in the ass. Plus sanding that stuff makes it stink SOOO bad. Just find a printer that leaves as clean of an edge or rounded areas as possible.
And I'm sorry if this conversation is going off the rails but until people get the code they want I figure there can be a little filler. Once (or if) the code drops these will get drowned out pretty quick anyway.

Am I the first to arrive? I was sitting in the car waiting to see if others were here yet but the suspense was killing me.
I've brought Hi-C Echo Coolers and Twinkies!
Quoted from PeterG:Today 30 months of no code, yeah! Or will they suprise us in the Stern of the Union today?
Don't bet on it.
At least that is actual news.
Don’t think I could have taken another “remains on our schedule” post.

They will report this for coming 30 months
Quoted from PeterG:They will report this for coming 30 months
Yeah. They really didn't say anything about the scope of the update, what the resources are, if gb is a side project or their primary focus... I feel like they would have said it was coming soon if it was coming soon. I think there's still quite a wait ahead.
I think you can read between the lines here? They want to do a bigger update over just fixing some bugs... which would require new animations/callouts/sounds possibly.
Quoted from tpir:I think you can read between the lines here? They want to do a bigger update over just fixing some bugs... which would require new animations/callouts/sounds possibly.
Funny. I "read" there that now there's finally someone started working on it.
"It remains on our schedule" does only mean it's still written on some whiteboard.
And the "resources" they had until now may as well have been (and propably were) Zero. - It's not a lie, it's just business terms.
Quoted from tpir:I think you can read between the lines here? They want to do a bigger update over just fixing some bugs... which would require new animations/callouts/sounds possibly.
Absolutely. If it was going to be a minor update Dwight could likely do it himself. After what Stern said I'm hoping the update is comparable in size to the final KISS code update, meaning lots of changes and additions. Also, the quote below from Stern makes it sounds like the update is being worked on right now.
"We’ve recently allocated additional resources to the Ghostbusters update".
I see this as a positive update, especially when many people thought they might just quietly kill the Ghostbusters update off of the schedule.

Before there was 0.
Now they added 1.
So now there is 1.
That is Dwight.
Alone.
Allowed to work on it in his free time.

Not trying to be a Negative Nancy Panzer but i wouldn't count on anything major at all because i just don't see it happening. The good news though is i played GB last night and it is still great fun even with the current code.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:And the "resources" they had until now may as well have been (and probably were) Zero. - It's not a lie, it's just business terms.
They said "additional resources" which implies there were already resources in place before said additions were added.
Either way, I have enough information at this point to comfortably place wagers on how big the update will be and what it will include if anyone wants in on some of that action

I don't wanna bet but i sure hope that you are right! Ghostbusters could easily be amazing with just a few tweaks. Its already amazing truthfully but it just needs a couple of things changed and polished up to make it one of the all time greats.
I think with a really nice code uodate that there would be a lot of people rushing out to buy this title again. I truly believe that.

Agree Dwight has some time to add a few things.
Bad news .... probably means fewer updates for Munsters

Buy “used versions” - I think this is out of production?

Ehh....should get another update in about 3 years I'd say. You're too impatient.

Well I own both games- can’t win them all
Both games are good as is, updates are a bonus for me!
The main thing I want at this point that isn't related to the rules is a tilt debounce setting for Slimer. It's too hard to get his sensitivity correct across different machines without zip ties and nonsense. The mech needs software help to allow tuning.
Quoted from delt31:MGBGA
I fully agree except for the “A.” Was it ever great? It can be, though!
As it was the case with Metallica
I really hope it’s not just bug fixes.
Having said that, there are so many bugs it takes them weeks just to fix those. That’s why I believe thats all we gonna see.
Again, let’s hope we are all proven wrong.

At bare minimum I'm guessing bug fixes, making the library insert do something, and adding an "Are You a God" final wizard mode. Those last two items were brought up by George Gomez at Expo 2018 in regards to them being missing from the game. I would also expect some of the existing modes to have more choreography added and hopefully a few additional topper effects added. Still hoping a Slimer multiball is added.
I'd be happy to be able to see my score and ball number for more than 3.7 seconds of a 5 minute game
Quoted from JodyG:I'd be happy to be able to see my score and ball number for more than 3.7 seconds of a 5 minute game
And other player’s scores between balls!
yep, love gb, needs a few code tweaks mainly the flipper frenzy - add a notification of on / off and also a menu option to turn off, a librarian mode, slimmer multiball would be fun, and add a more defined feature for when the gear collected and link to the red outlane inserts to light up as have a proton gun mod idea
finished mods for CFTBL and now working on a replacement firestation for the fun of it - still more to do but taking shape then once looking good chop down to fit into the space but sized to fill the same space height and width
