Dwight could you comment on the adjustability of the mag slings for those that think they were to dead In last night's video.
Thanks

Dwight, could you ask Trudeau what he thinks aboot people assuming he cannot set up switches correctly?
Everything looks good to me except the Super Jackpots - super jackpots for me are like the holy grail of multiball play ..I just don't get why they are so abundant. I prefer supers in games like CFTBL, RIPLEYS and LOTR just seem so much more satisfying when they are more difficult to achieve. Everything else looks great!
Quoted from frankmac:The LE-Pre by all rights should look and play better than the Pro that is what you are paying for.
Pro $5K w/shaker
Pre $7k
LE $8,500-9k
There is a difference in the games and in the Money.
I'm wanting to purchase a Pro, but not seeing anything less than $5000 without a shaker. Who do I need to call? (other than Ghostbusters that is)

+1. Have cash burning a hole in my pocket and decided Pro was the model for me after seeing the video last night but can't bring myself to bend to Stern's new policy of $4995 minimum price Pros. Will likely wait it out for a HUO or another used title unless someone knows of a way to get these without paying the increase over prior Pro models.
Quoted from Bond_Gadget_007:-early code being so good might mean no need for bigger code later? Legit concern. Dwight may not be a constant tinkerer like Lyman.
A big update was just released today for GOT, so I don't think you have to worry about that. I actually had the same concern about GOT, but the hits keep coming.
Quoted from Xaqery:Ugh. Sorry for the confusion.
In competition mode Negative Reinforcment works like this:
You get X right answers.
Your (X + 1) guess will be wrong and you will get zero points.
X == how many ghost you have caught /10
For example:
55 ghost caught will equal 5 right answers.
114 ghost caught will equal 11 right answers.
- Dwight
That's how you explained it on the stream.

This is pretty brilliant. Definitely adds a risk/reward to it, both in knowing that this is the rule in tournament mode, plus you can choose to make a few more shots before you try to collect for an extra right answer!
The video mode looks OK.
A skill based VM like The Shadow's would have worked perfectly. I love it when it comes up on that game.
Think moving Slimer with your flippers left and right, trying to eat food and wine bottles, trying to avoid Proton beams. Each food item is worth more points then the next.
Would have been perfect, tested reflexes, had great sounds, and still need to be on toes like the flow of the game.
Maybe Dwight can add a secondary VM to the code eventually?
Quoted from kpg:Maybe Dwight can add a secondary VM to the code eventually?
Only if he wants Pinside to spontaneously combust!
Speaking of the video mode. When I was in Las Vegas the slot machine Ghostbusters had a similiar video mode integrated into one of the bonus rounds. It was pretty much the same thing.
Quoted from TheLaw:Only if he wants Pinside to spontaneously combust!
Ha! Maybe he could replace the current card guessing VM with a better one then. One could only hope

I Sent you a PM.
Well, I decided to drop down to the Pro. Been thinking about it for weeks. The magnaslings were really my final decision. I like how they work overall, but I like the more active traditional slings more. All in all I couldn't really say that the differences added up to $1,700 in my mind. My first NIB pin, so I'm thrilled regardless of which I get!

The Pro is fantastic!! I have had mine for a week and it keeps on getting better by the game. For $5k you can do no wrong. I would highly recommend the shaker motor at time of of your purchase. It is a plug and play add on and makes a world of difference to the game in my opinion. GB pro with shaker rocks!!! Congratulations..

Big code update for GOT? 1.29 looks to have added only two minor things.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:Big code update for GOT? 1.29 looks to have added only two minor things.
Yeah it just added some high score slot and fixed scoring bugs

The two releases before that were not public. So it is a combination of 1.27, 1.28, and 1.29. More than two minor things. Plus I am still running 1.22, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Ah ok, I didn't know that. Good to hear.
I'm reading everything about GB.
I've not played it, but it sounds like a lot of people love it.
I'm trying to sift through the tea leaves to separate out those who love it because it's theme, artwork etc which to me are secondary. I'd bet some people would gush over the game just because they love the movie or because they love the artwork. To me, I like the movie but I'm not in love with it. I saw both in the 80s and just watched them both last month. GB is a good movie but I'm not obsessed with it. To me it's in the top100 (nearly) on my all time list. I don't mean to say it's not a great movie but there are many movies I watch all the time but GB to me is more of a casual once every 20 years type of movie.
I'm primarily interested in the code and the gameplay. If it's good on all four counts obviously it's a home run. But I just can't figure out the gameplay and code. I'm really partial to Lyman code because he seems to have the best track record. I'm unsure that some people don't like the linear code and the cheap drains and some say lack of reason for some shots like the right ramp or the Scealri brothers.

It'd be easier to hop in the car with a couple $5 bills and go play one, don't you think?
Reading through forums and then trying to decide if peoples opinions are based on gameplay or theme? Geeshh good luck!
Not to mention that fact that it seems the "real ghostbusters thread" or whatever its called is a total bloatfest.... I logged onto pinside 24hrs later and its like 100-150 new posts every time... can't keep up.
I feel the same way about the movie that you do. I do like the theme though as integrated into the pin.
My first impression is that I loved it. The pro is just fun. I played it at the Amusement Expo in Vegas and I had a blast. It was very challenging and tough but I don't think it was particularly unfair as far as a pinball goes. It really did give me the "just one more game feel" The code was early on that model but it seemed complete the short time I played it. I know it's not but it felt that way as it sat. The music really was integrated well into the game and the overall experience. I do like the art too, but bottom line it played well and was very fun. I am unsure on the LE/premium but I will hold judgement till I play it. My main concern is the magna slings vs traditional. They look good but slowed the game down in my opinion and it seemed easier on the video. The code is early and I can see them getting much better with revisions. I think the two models are going to play very different. So much so that I think collectors (with deep pockets) might even decide to buy them both. I love the ecto goggles, extra ramp, ball locks ect. Not sure about Slimer but hard to tell from the video. I see some pluses and minuses to it. The up and down of slimer on the pro is awesome and the movement from side to side on the premium could be great and seems to take some timing to hit him as well but I need to experience it first. This hasn't really been mentioned to much but the slings on the pro played different as well. They felt soft a bit also at times depending on the trajectory of how the ball hit it. I think it was the angle of the slings and their different shape. I will say this though that both of the models seem good to me.
When the magna sling feature for premium/LE was announced there was a lot of trepidation from posts in the forums that it wouldn't feel right, having the "ghosts" mess with your ball all the time. Now it sounds like lots of people are underwhelmed by them.
I like that it's selective in when it decides to alter the course of the ball. I would also agree with others that at some points in the dead flip stream it seemed like they weren't on at all or when they operated like a normal sling, it slowed the ball down instead of speeding it up.
All in all, I like them and think it's a great feature. I'm sure the intensity of the magnet is something that can/will be adjustable.
I'm looking forward to playing it but honestly, a tad bummed watching the video. I may be wrong but I did not hear quotes from the actual movie. I hope I'm dead wrong. There are so many great lines from the movie and hearing Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, and the other cast of characters is what pulls this license together in a pin.
Iron Man, Star Trek, Spiderman (non Vault) - all come together as awesome total immersive experiences. If you're gonna do a movie based pin, do it right and get the real actors voices. I know Ernie is doing the call outs but clips from movie is what helps make it epic.

There are a ton of movie quotes in the game. All the best one liners are present.

Theres currently a lot of call outs from the original film in the game.
I hope Sterns adds even more!

Original actors or character actor voices?

Very cool - thanks! Could not tell from the video shot.

I hope Dwight adds even more original callouts to the game. For example it would be cool to hear Bill Murrays "cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria" line in Mass Hysteria multiball. Hopefully there are some more Gozer lines added to the game as well. Also, I don't recall hearing any Dana Barrett lines either. The game has a lot of callouts already in it but could certainly use a few more.

I went through the code on Pinball Browser, and there are so many movie clips I seriously think they got every single one of them. Not disappointed at all with that part of the game- it seems you will just need to progress completely through the game, and you will hear more and more of them. There are so many you will probably hear ones you've never heard many months into owning the game.

The cats and dogs clip from Bill Murray in definitely in the code when i went through it with Pinball Browser. They got the sound bites correct in this one.
