On a positive note - I played my GB a bunch yesterday - with absolutely zero issues. I did re-seat the slimer mech (easy 5 minute fix), but other than that haven't done anything other than play it. I do notice that the machine seems to settle in after around 100 plays. Airballs off drop targets have almost completely disappeared, and it's been a while since I've had a ball jump over the outlane.

That's the way it should work. It should let the ball UP but the gate is there to stop it coming STDM. The gate (well, half gate) will force the ball to the right, and down to the right flipper.

lift the playfield and check to see it's missing a screw at the pivot point. I've seen this happen...

Is it really a design flaw? Not everyone has this problem. Right out of the box, sure - I had some direct hard hits not drop the target - but as the machine has broken in over about 100 plays (or less) I've only seen a rare few times now. ...not sure that really qualifies as a design flaw that stern should stop the line to fix.
