I just received a premium and have been plagued by airballs despite having a protector. Taking a cue from CaptainNeo, I adjusted the target angles by using .020 styrene shim stock. To do this, I simply loosened the two bracket screws and rested the shim on top of the screw threads and sandwiched between the bracket and the playfield. The shim width only need to be approximately 1/8", otherwise it will interfere with the adjacent insert. Airballs have been dramatically reduced.

I also noticed Slimer dragging butt. For this, I inserted .060 shim stock between the base (lowest point) of the large support bracket and the playfield. This was enough to lift Slimer and eliminate 95% of the butt drag without affecting ball contact.

Finally, to reduce cheap drains, I followed Delta9's recommendation. I used tape to mark off 3/16" on a nail punch and then very gently tapped the lane guide up to the 3/16" mark. Again, preliminary results look promising.

Tomorrow is a vacation day, so a portion of it will be spent "testing".

I had an issue with Slimer requiring frequent recalibration. I thought it was simply a rev 1.11 bug until it had difficulty recalibrating. Lifting the playfield and examining the mechanism, I noticed the cog pulleys were misaligned to the point were the belt was wearing on its edge.

There is no adjustment mechanism, so I removed a plastic spacer washer that was between the motor and motor pulley, as well as shim the motor base to were it was better aligned. Its not the prettiest shim job, but Slimer works 100X better.

Hopefully this helps anyone experiencing this problem.

Quoted from JimB:

What determines the need to frequently recalibrate slimer?

Slimer would be in front of the targets at the end of the game versus return to the city. Turning the machine on and off did not correct the situation, so I was forced to go into calibrate mode. It did it on a frequent enough basis to cause concern. I also may have made the situation worse when I shimmed the lower base of the bracket out .060 to get Slimer from dragging on the rail.
Works perfectly now.

Quoted from Junglist:

Have many people have tried the spring coil adjustment to improve the scoleri bros dropping? It seems that it's a nice easy fix I'm just wondering if long term it could cause the target or shelf to snap/break? If you did it, how many loops did you move up? I'm thinking 10 rings is a good start - did it make a big difference if you tried it? I'd say hard shots are about a 65% rejection currently.

I did last night & it worked great. I previously purchased the PBL replacement springs which are much shorter than the OEMs. Because I read of issues with using these, I decided to adjust the OEM springs. About 10 rings - try less if you are concerned. Very noticeable difference.

Quoted from Delta9:

I keep getting airballs off the left ramp anybody have the fix

The metal flap that is riveted to the ramp appears to be thicker than that on the right ramp and for sure isn't the blue steel found on older machines.

I am running a small experiment where I added a small piece of Mylar, about 1.25" long, to serve as a transition between this metal flap and the playfield. It doesn't cover any of the inserts and is almost impossible to see (although not sure how long that will last).

I did this late last night it seems to have made a difference, either that or all of my ramp shots were dead on perfect

After doing this, it occurred to me that perhaps the front of the ramp could be drawn tighter to the playfield. Below the playfield are two nuts for the front of the ramp, which were tightened. However, I think the Mylar had a bigger effect.
