When hitting the drop targets on mine at least 50% of the time the ball will just bounce off the target and it will stay up. Sometimes this happens 4/5 times in a row. Would love to hear any idears on how to fix this.

Quoted from exflexer:I did test the nudging to make sure that slimmer wasn't registering hits. He is not.
I also ran that wire above the connector for slimey and it works great. I used a zip tie to make it stay put. Easy fix.
These flipper issues are a complete joke. Amazing stern did not figure out this crap during testing.
I assume that when you jumper the eos you are just letting the software cut the high power?
I did a similar thing with KISS, and just bent the eos switches out of the way when I had issues, then everything was fine.
Quoted from D_Graunch:Here's an example of the flipper problem. I wouldn't bypass your EOS switch, as suggested here, unless you want a blown transistor.

The software will cut power to the coil even if the eos is bypassed. Unless things have changed for spike, the transistor will not blow...
Quoted from Major-Havoc:We had an issue with one of the 2 we had. The left Outland switches were all wired wrong. Easy fix but caused weird ball save issues.
Ah! That's why my left Outlane audit does not work! The QC on this game, was indeed the worst I've ever seen, and I've bought every new stern out there.
Quoted from tpir:Ugh, that is a gross change. Investing in going after the captive balls is dangerous enough that I kind of liked it staying lit (and was fine with one lock out of Tobin/pops as mentioned) but I guess it was a bug
Hopefully they buffed the chances of the pops lighting the lock to compensate. I recall seeing that happen a lot in Jack's video but confirmation bias, sample size, etc.
I agree. That multiball made it more accessible for rookie players. I will have to see if there is a setting to change back to how it was.
Man the design of the slimy mech is pure CRAP! I did the suggested fix to move the wire to the center and zip tie, but after about 4 days of location use the slimey figure starting twisting out of alignment and it was going off even when hitting the flippers.
So now I'm back to the crappy way Stern sent it out. It's just unacceptable they can't QC their designs better.
Stern said to bend back at the base. But I said it's just going to re-occur and needs a better fix IMO ?
Quoted from stangbat:I can't believe they let games ship with this. Every day I've had to bend it back, and my game has been on location since Tuesday afternoon. Probably a matter of time before it breaks due to work hardening from the bending. That wire had to get the hell bent out of it during play testing in-house let alone on test games on location. Ridiculous that they wouldn't have beefed it up before shipping. Looks like I may be making a trip to the hardware store for some beefier wire to retrofit in as a solution.
We will need to bitch to stern so they can come up with a retrofit. Great to talk about it here, but the more people complain the better chance of us early adopters getting a half decent fix. I've already sent a mail about all the rediculous QC issues.
At least the bent rail will probably get a permanent solution. The slimer on the other hand will need to be constantly adjusted and will probably never work dependably on location.
I think the 3x target behind the slimer should count as a slimer hit during the mode based on how many null hits the slimer takes.
Quoted from kpg:This is from the Prem/LE manual- looks like a better designed Slimer mech. I'm assuming this is either a revised version from what's on the Pro, or was made for the Prem/LE to begin with, but I'm willing to bet this will be implemented in the Pro's going forward. Definitely seems like a better design.
Also, here is a picture of the Prem/LE from when GB was announced, seems at some point they changed the Slimer mech, possibly due to more play testing. Looks like the very early games will have this older designed mech. You can see the lack of the additional pendulum type piece that sits on the Slimer mech top plate.
Interesting, hopefully they will offer this updated mech to current pro owners.
There is a tech bulletin about the switches doing this for previous games I.e Metallica, kiss etc on sterns site and says to tweak the switch. They should definitely address this also in code
Man we gotta get these here!!!!!!! Maybe PBL or Marco would carry them. I see people drilling for posts, such a crime!
Quoted from J85M:Okay I've sent an email asking for a bulk buy/discount, price shipped to me in the UK, I also have a step brother who lives in Germany who could always get them sent to him and forward them to me or simply forward them on himself per details I provide him.
What I could do with knowing is how many people are interested in the kit? So if/when they reply I can give them an accurate number of kits required and hopefully sort out a bulk buy that makes it cheaper for you guys in the states to get these on your pins
Hi thanks for this! I would take one. Cheers
