I adjusted the set screw. It drags a touch still but I can deal with the little that's left since it puts him lower on the pf for an easier strike.

Quoted from rotordave:Hey GB guys ... without me wading through 48 pages, has anyone's else's GB Pro been rebooting in the middle of a game?
rd
I have had this happen 4 times now so far in the 2 weeks I've had the pin. I'll be playing and the audio will start cutting out or lagging behind, then the animations will go on the DMD, then I'll lose insert lighting but the coils will still fire and kick the ball around. Then finally it will reboot itself.
No real consistency to when or why it happens either. Has this been reported before either with this code or previously? I thought I had read up on most of the issues but this one was new to me and my dist.
I just installed the full Cliffy set and have no issues with air balls from the drop targets. It did take me about 15 minutes to make sure everything was completely flush. One thing I had to do that others may not have thought about was to push the bracket forward and backwards to change the pitch of the target from front to back. I was having issues until I figured that piece out and now it's one smooth transition.
Just my 2 cents on what worked for me.
Quoted from Trekkie1978:Make sure you order that plastic screen protector from hooked on pinball that chuck mentioned.

How much does it distort the image?
Quoted from jrio101:Mine does the same thing. It seems to be the ball is jumping over the switch when it goes around the bend past the ecto goggles. Anyone have a solution to this (maybe a taller roll over?)
Mine does this about 5% of the time or so as well. Maybe a bend of the switch arm would help.
I attempted to adjust my switch the same as you did with little effect. Then I used micro needle nose pliers and tweezers to adjust the switch while it was still screwed onto the PF. It took some effort but I managed to bend the switch arm right by the switch contact point to where the slightest pressure would trip it but it wouldn't false. Works probably 95-98% of the time now.
Quoted from jamesdeloris:Playing my GB Pro today the ball went into the left scoop (under the flashing light). The scoop dropped a 1/4 inch or so into the PF with the ball inside. I pull the ball out and raised the pf. The spot welds on the metal scoop part had broke free from the arm under the pf and the scoop is hanging loose. Any idea how to fix it?
Contact your distributor or Stern support directly for a replacement would be my suggestion.
Quoted from wxforecaster:Premium owner here. Other than the insane number of airballs (thank goodness I've got protectors), it plays pretty well.
I've got two frustrations:
1.) Probably 95% of my shots to the PKE (right) ramp make the 180 degree bend, stop, and come back down. What am I missing here? I'm not seeing anything obvious. I can make this shot all day on a Pro (yeh I know the shape is different), but I know it's not me missing the ramp or hitting it weakly. Any ideas on a fix?
2.) Hard shots through the right orbit fail to register. I manually active the switch 100 times in test mode and get 100 registers. I'm trying to figure out how the ball is missing the switch coming around the bend past Stay Puft.
Could someone point me to a solution to these?
Check out my previous post for my solution for #2. I'm on the road or I'd look back and paste it for you.
For #1 I just ground my existing one down 3/16 on each end since I didn't need anything from PBL right now.
Quoted from funchaser:Hello. I just received a GB Premium NIB last week and I've spent this week fixing issues/dialing it in. My current issue is that the ball gets stuck (during play) between the "cliffy" protector and the top of the scoop of the right eject VUK. I'm not sure of the best way to remedy this. Anybody had to deal with this before? Any ideas? Thanks.
If the minute fraction of an inch that they cliffy removes from clearance of the scoop causes the ball to hit the top of the scoop, it was way too close to begin with. Check the mounting screws on the bottom and make sure tge assembly is not pitched forward for any reason then move forward with bending the top of the scoop up if needed.
Quoted from swinks:I edited a picture that hopefully helps those that need it. I do admit that during the time waiting for refined wedges I installed 1/16" thick white double sided tape (near my thumb) behind the target to firm up the target and reduce the bend back and possible launch of the ball. Then when the wedges came I installed and didn't think to share that minor detail - sorry.
basically 2 install locations
Location 1 - brings the backing plate closer to the switch making it a little more sensitive. Adding the small piece of double sided tape will firm the switch up and reduce the effect of the ball getting airborne. I am playing with this set up and still get the odd minor air ball but not shooting over plastics and lanes etc and the switch is not as sensitive as original so not a given shot.
Location 2 - keeps the switch standard sensitivity but will still allow the target to tilt forward and when hit to bend back to a 90 degree position and possibly allow the ball to get airborne. Adding the tape will firm up and keep the ball / target at less than 90 degrees when hit and should be a improvement on airborne balls.
Logic would indicate to me that this would need to be installed between the bracket and the playfield to pitch the entire switch assembly forward. Have you tried something like that? I would think that just moving the back support wouldn't have any affect on the angle of the switch face therefore the deflection of the ball.
Quoted from cpr9999:Question - I noticed on my GBLE that the Public Library has a black post installed on the right side when looking at the front. Also, there is a hole drilled in back to put the nut on the bolt that holds the black post.
What was - is this post supposed to be used for - odd to be there by itself.
thx.
Usually these types of seemingly random posts are some sort of ball trap prevention that arise during play testing.
