Quoted from DS_Nadine:

I like the Response. If you think it's funny or are offended is pretty much your own decision.

It's funny, yes. It's also very unprofessional. Even if the person asking knows the person who is in charge of the FB page, nobody else should be expected to know that. Everyone else just sees a company being snarky. The poster seems to be giving credit to Stern for getting a code update (likely 1.04 that fixes the flippers) before they have their machine. My machine shipped on a Wednesday and the code announcement was made here a day or two later. I powered my machine up and it had 1.04 on it. I appreciate that I didn't have to update that.

I also added a ball to the bookshelf captive ball before playing it. The Slimer cable was to the side of the wires, so I fixed that before putting the glass on and playing. No missed hits so far, but light taps don't hit hard enough to register. I'd be OK with a Ghost target hit 3 times counting for a Slimer hit.

I'd also like to see a quick save for the left saucer kickout. There is one on the right side and that one hits the left flipper reliably every time. The left one is iffy and without the save, and bad kickout and it's gone.

Increased the left kickout power to 48 (pretty sure) and now it feeds pretty well. Played for 5 hours yesterday and only got hosed once.

Now Slimer is registering on warning sized nudges. Not sure if it's just settling into position, but I moved the cable between the wires before the first game was ever played.

EDIT: Also, as a first time NIB buyer, what can be done about coins not registering. about 5% of coins dropped in the right side will go through, but not register. Anything specific to look at?

I get the plunge issue as well. Slimer is false registering again. It was ok a week ago. Will have to get the final version of the fix at some point.

See post 63 (I think). Apparently replace with red spring fixes launch issues.

I'll check it out, thanks.

Quoted from smokedog:

I tried telling people that 3 weeks ago ... but instead got shouted down about how the game is too hard, poorly designed, needs a centre post, bigger flippers, etc, etc.
Meanwhile on route, the game is doing great, and players are posting billion plus scores on location.

Just did my second week collection and GB is still going strong. I'm curious what the weekly norm will be in a little while, but for now things are going well.

I also posted a "Bounty for a Billion" on my FB and web page. Current GC is 848m, and the bounty is $10 at the bar for the person who breaks a billion first. It's just supposed to be fun and will give some credit for the first player to do that locally.

I dropped the power from the left kickout last night as well. Now it delivers the ball to the left side easily instead of the 90% safe delivery to the right flipper.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Interesting. Good to know if mine ever starts not giving it to the right flipper.

I know every machine will be different, but for me, 25 was too much (was delivering it to the flipper tip), 20 was to the top sling post rubber area. Mine is set to 22 or 23, which feeds along the front of the sling for a nice catch just like the Whirlwind we have does.

Quoted from tpir:

My plunger already has a red spring though if that is what is being discussed. And even if I replaced it the auto plunge doesn't use the spring so it would still happen on ball saves and at the beginning of multiball. I need a real fix with whatever is being collided with.
Also after about 50 games my Book Stacking ball guide is bent badly and the ball is stuck. Has the extra ball fix been working for people?

I forgot to check my audits last night, but I put in a second ball before the first game was played on it. I didn't notice a curve when playing yesterday. Didn't get right over it to see if it's perfect, but the captive ball was working for sure.

Quoted from bGnschen:

I saw 2 mini coils below the playfield which are maybe for holding the targets ....i think its random for one time....for me a nice feature. Im not sure if its by design

The smaller coils are so they can drop down when the machine wants them to.

Quoted from kpg:

Also starting to have lots of little issues like switches going out of adjustment and not registering, and now Slimer is registering shots automatically at times - only after about 100 plays or so. The build quality is extremely disappointing for a brand new pinball machine.
After being extremely pleased with my JJP Hobbit machine for the same price as this machine- I've decided no more Stern NIB, only JJP from this point on. If I want a Stern, I'll buy on the second hand market where I can fully inspect the machine before purchasing.

Is your Slimer mech the original one? If nothing is coming out of the top of the plastic, it's the original one. If so, it will do that because the cable doesn't have enough space to curve. You can add washers under the plastic and that will give a little more space to curve as much as it should. That will help, but probably won't 100% fix it.
