Quoted from golfingdad1:

I just removed the gate all together, and it plays great . Alot more flow and speed now .
I figure the ball spends enough time n the pops as it is .

My GB premium is on order so I don't have it yet. Does removing the gate change game play? What is the gate's purpose?

As I wait for my GB Premium to arrive I was playing the GB LE at the Museum of Pinball and noticed this hex post standing by itself with nothing attached?
Anyone else have this empty post (circled in green) on their LE or Premium?

Do the pin blades from pin graffix usually have the hole cut out for the back box hinge ???
My don't seem to have it cut.

No, not on the three I have installed. I assume because the material they use can be easily peeled off and reapplied it's not necessary to have the hole.

I pulled the gate behind Stay Puft and gently grinded the corner off (rounded). I also made a bent plastic simular to what was suggested. I also enlarged the holes on the gate to slightly move it upward. I do have the green spring and the stiffer auto-plunge spring. None of this solved the problem.

The ball seems to "rattle" and consistently not smoothly rounding the corner. I've filmed in slow-mo to watch and it appears to be a rattle and slowdown. Sometimes not even making it to PKE and falling down to the ECTO goggles.

I'm thinking it's a ramp issue where the ball skips from right to left then hits the inner wall.

To sum it up. Some of the above fixes resolve issues but some of us have other things going on.

thanks for all your help guys.

Quoted from packards34:

With all the issues with ghostbusters would anyone recommend buying a NIB ghostbusters machine? Or buy something else?

I would buy another one. I would do it again. I'm gracious that this forum exists to discuss issues and share ideas.
I've been told the Ghostbusters is the best selling pin in the last 16 years. Not sure what's thatch worth but probably because so many bought it for home use. Therefore we're picky and looking at the small details.

I still like it and if it wasn't for the other bazillion responsibilities I have I'd be playing right now and into the wee-morning.

I would totally buy the exact same GB Prem again and again. Is, we're coming up with issues, but it's dam fun to play and challenging. I have 7 pins and this is my favorite. NIB GB Prem was ready to go on location but having it in my house allows me to find all the little tweaks needed.

Btw, if you haven't played with headphones you need to do it. There's so much more to hear (and it's easier to switch back and forth during mass hysteria because you can hear the glue sound).

RE: A hard plunge rattling behind Stay Puft and falling in PKE or ECTO Goggle orbit instead of a smooth orbit.

I grinded down the gate corner as much as possible - didn't fix it. Raised the gate as much as possible - didn't fix it. Made sure Mr. Puft's ass was out of the way and still would rattle shots in the the PKE lanes instead of around the orbit. (yes, I have the softer spring on the plunger).

UNTIL, I added a well fitted piece of plastic on the left side of the shooter lane wall. Basically about 8 inches long and just a few inches high to cover the metal on the left before the drop off. This helps force the ball to the right and on to the curve behind Stay Puft. Played 10 games and made every plunged orbit smooth as Gozers butt. If it stays consistent I'll post the dimensions and pictures.

It felt good to have the 100% consistent plunge to left flipper. Not sure if it because of this but I made a new personal high score: 5.6B.

Has anyone tied additional LEDs in with one of the SMDs? How did you do it?

I see three ways:
1. Splice in to the acutral wires
2. Solder on to circuit board going to SMD
3. Splice in at the molex connector by pulling pin, cutting wire, adding new wire + old wire and crimp new pin and install in connector.

With the Pinovators system on GB, when I'm not wearing headphones, I have the volume at 4 to 6 with a subwoofer. Compared to my other pins GB is much loader (but its my only Spike system).

BTW, try the headphones even if you just plug them in the backbox. Trust me, try them. There are so many sounds I can only hear with headphones specially the Mass Hysteria flipper switch clues.
