I have a few pictures of celebrities playing Pinball saved in my phone, I want to print a couple out to look like that on my wall!
Quoted from EJS:No time for pinball shenanigans for me today so here’s a picture of a picture….rather a painting.
This was an extremely generous donation from one of pinballplusMN customers. This is part of a set. Another is a smaller 8x12” schematic of a pop bumper. There’s one more I can’t remember what.

I dealt craps at the Casino here in Windsor from 2000 (the year the casino got craps) until 2014! Fun to play and to deal!
Quoted from EJS:Getting some progress made so hopefully I can update my Atlantis restoration thread soon
[quoted image]
My dad had cancer, it was June and I asked for time off. It was denied.
It’s easy to keep track of the players. Each player has a rack in front of them that represents the place you put their bets on the numbers(your layout probably has the position marked). Come bets and put bets are basically the same. We were also pretty lucky because we had 10X odds so it was easy math for us! Clearing the table doesn’t happen that often. There is a supervisor sitting between the two sides of the table watching one as well as a Stick dealer watching the other. The dealers usually only listen to the sticks statement (6,6 no field 6 down behind in behind 6) (3 crap three, swallows the come spits in the field!) It usually happens to newer dealers. They watch the dice as opposed to watching their action. It can be pretty easily fixed if the cleared the bets properly. The only bets you have to memorize are the Don’t pass bets as they tend to show up after a 7 is rolled. The payouts are usually always the same so you don’t really do the full math too often. Only when you payout the Center action.
Quoted from EJS:What happened in 2014? Different job I’m assuming.
It’s really fun to play. I don’t know how you can do that math that fast let along keep track of everyone at a full table.
I remember one time a dealer cleaned up the line after someone made a point and watching them replace everything was a shitshow.
Aside from my house the nearest table is just over an hour and the one after that is an hour and 40 minutes and I don’t have that kind of free time anymore. I need to get brobra over for another session once these games clear out of the basement.
We had a regular we called big dog. He looked like an absolute bum. Dirty hair, shirt, shorts just looked terrible. We knew who he was but hardly anyone else did. He was literally a billionaire. He played $5000 working put bets on the come out roll with max odds(10x). He didn’t care if he won or lost just enjoyed playing the game. Didn’t want the host or shift manager around him. Just wanted to sit quietly. One day he set up his bets and rolled 7 like 10 times in a row on the come out! Took the last $1000 from his front line winners and gave us a tip! As he was walking away the security guard walked up and asked him to leave because he looked like a bum.
That is very very true!
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:I stopped wearing my gold years ago, because just not safe anymore.
I try not to look like a bum, but I also try not to stand out as having any money.
There are people out there that will kill you for $20.00.
Work is crazy busy for everyone right now! It’s the weekend! I’m planning finishing as much of the gym as possible this weekend. I strapped it 6 months ago… I’ll get the wiring, insulation and vapour barrier up this weekend. On Sunday I’ll epoxy the floor. I epoxied the laundry room yesterday. Plain grey but eventually I’ll do something nice over top, at least it covers the floor for now.

City of Windsor sells “compost dirt” for $20 a yard. So every spring I get my F150 bed full for around $50. I spend the day spreading it out in my lawn. It makes my grass really green and flattens it out. It hasn’t been maintained since it went in 50ish years ago. So when I moved in 8 years ago I couldn’t cut my lawn with a normal mower (they paid for it to be cut with z-tracks). A couple more years and it will be good. I was also really low compared to my neighbours so the backyard flooded every spring, now I’m pretty even so I can’t wait to be higher than them so they keep all their water in their own yards!
Quoted from EJS:Looks like JohnTTwo picked up a virtual machine today.
I got yard work done today. Weeded some old berm areas and put grass seed down and will see if anything grows.
Mowed the lawn short to keep the voles out so they don't screw up my lawn like they did last winter.
Next year won't be fertilizing at all since I only did 1 application this year and it still did fine. Going to water less too. Will save money and hopefully the pond in back won't be as murky. Not like 1 person will make a difference.
Asteroids is a great game! I’ll eventually get my hands on one!
Make sure to show the pictures of the cleaned up garage!
Quoted from Insane:So i said earlier, i would post a pic of the garage. So just behind the RC plane, is the Asteroids. Just below the plane and to the left is Dealers Choice Cabinet. Back to the left and on the other side of the car is the Galaxian cocktail project. On vacation next week. hope to get some of this organized...

I agree! It’s the first thing my eyes caught!
Quoted from EJS:I like that R2-D2 cooler
I need little johnny to drop by for the day to help dig up my foundation this weekend. I don’t know how many beer it will cost but will be worth it! EJS should probably be here to to help with Bow and Arrow!
Lol! I just need to spend some time and give her some love. She works pretty great! It’s still my favourite looking game. I want to send her out for a playfield refurbishment and a paint job on the whole thing. Not worth what they ask plus shipping. My buddy is a tattoo artist. I might get him to come over and see if he can paint her to her former glory!
Quoted from EJS:That’d be fun! Actually Bow and Arrow looks like a more enjoyable version of Delta Queen which I picked up last summer.
What’s acting up on your game?
I know my Delta Queen needs help. Not sure exactly what. I haven’t set it up yet. I remember buying that game. The seller was on a conference call the entire time I looked at it so had to negotiate price while he was talking to other people.
I know the light inserts leading up to the scoop are really sunken in. Will probably re glue them at some point and will document here.
I’m in Canada, Basically south Detroit.
When I bought this house there was a clothes line in the backyard. I started digging it out but it was way to big to pull out on my own. I’m sure it was placed there to hold a 747 just over kill with the concrete. I have to dig it all out. One of the landscaping companies I use told me he would help. I originally dug it up but I didn’t have a way to pull it out of the hole so I knocked it over and buried it! Lol. I think I must have cracked the foundation because I have a pretty good leak that comes from that area now. I will dig it up this weekend and get him to pull it out with a bobcat. I have some hydraulic cement to fix it I’ll need some rubber sealant.
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:Until gas gets back under 2 bucks a gallon, I am staging a silent protest, and refusing to drive over 20 miles a week.
If you live close to me, HELL YEAH! We can make something happen!
And I am not flying anywhere. Last time I did that, security harassed me so much I would never fly again.
And that was in 1998, I heard security is even worse now.
I did it with my superman. I love the way it looks up close. I looked at it as a comic pin I wanted it to have that feel. It ended up in the rainbow puke club! I was pretty mad about it but don’t care now.
Quoted from titanpenguin:All I ask is why do people do this?
I’ve used epoxy for most of the internal block repairs at work, also on one in my basement. They hold up well. If you can use a cold chisel and hydrolic concrete you would be better off
Quoted from EJS:Oh Zartan any thoughts for a small crack on concrete? Maybe some sort of silicone filler? I probably missed the boat for this year now that it’s getting too cold.
Eventually I will have the guts to do one. It will definitely be my Bow and Arrow. It’s my favourite looking machine. If I had the money I would probably send it to HEP.
I don’t want to do long distance hauls. It’s just myself and my 11 year old daughter. It would just be local. Maybe in the summer months when she is off school we would see a bit of Canada and the states. I really only wanted to get my DZ license(small trucks) but it’s a better deal for the full AZ license. Plus AZ is much more in demand
Quoted from EJS:Good for you there’s a LOT of demand for that now. How far would you be traveling?
I’m in the Dale Carnegie class. I still enjoy doing some of the management work.
I’m going to try to keep a few buildings plus driving. If nothing else it will allow me to get more pins!
In 2000 I had a coffee table out of a scratch and dent area. It had a broken tempered glass top so instead of paying $1000 I paid $250 but I had to replace the glass. I found it cheap but it was plate glass. I was living in my parents basement at the time. I was writing something out at 3am. I leaned my weight on the edge of the table. I weighed quite a bit at the time. My weight broke the glass top and slide into my arm it cut very very deep. I fell on the floor. When I stood up the glass went into my elbow. Then into my knee. I yelled at my girlfriend who was sleeping to “CALL 911!”. She was half asleep and saw the blood spraying across the room panicked and said “what is the number for 911?! I don’t know what to do!” I ran up the stairs and started yelling at my parents “CALL 911”. They yelled out “shut up we are sleeping we have work in the morning! “ I screamed “CALL 911!” My dad came down to our kitchen yelling at me to “SHUT UP” saw all the blood on the stairs tiles and walls and called. I ended up with 2 stitches in my elbow, 11 stitches inside the meat of my forearm and 22 stitches holding my skin together. It hit my nerves, arteries and cut into the top layer of my tendons. I do my best not to go near plate glass to often now! Lol
Yes, I agree not trying to be cringy or dark but glass is pretty serious at times!
We are lucky here in Canada. Seeing a Doctor is part of our health care system so it’s free. I only had to pay $45 for the ambulance ride. I was “triaged” right away but had to wait 5 hours to see the doctor to get stitched up.
I feel bad that you didn’t get to go to the hospital to have it fixed for you.
I love watching this!
Quoted from EJS:Alright I know Zartan likes the technical stuff.
I think we had 20/25 people last year the year before was around the same but adults were trick or treating as well? My last house around 8 years ago was near a brand new school with a ton of kids in the area. I can’t remember how many but we ran out of candy pretty early. This neighborhood has young kids and both parents bring their kids out so most houses don’t give out candy.
Quoted from EJS:How's this for organization....
Any guesses for trick or treater attendance tonight?
I have no idea. We have record warm temps (15 above avg) tonight BUT....
Candy selection at the store seems poor this year and prices are way up.
2017-- 115 people
2018-- 105
2019-- 103
2020-- took a year off
2021-- 88
2022-- ???
Festivities should start in 114 minutes from now if its anything like years past and go until about 8:30 last year I never even turned the lights off I had so much extra candy.
I live in the suburbs and houses are spaced out a little looser than some adjacent areas but that has obviously been a constant over the years. If I were a kid I'd be in DavidLee community where they pack them in a little more (3:2 compared to me) and could hit up more houses per hour.
I’m excited to see how it turns out! I wonder if you will have to clear coat them so the paint doesn’t break?
Quoted from EJS:I’ve NEVER painted screws before but these were so rusty and pitted and evaporust can only make things so much better…I decided to paint these screw heads for the arch/ upper apron on Atlantis.
[quoted image]
So… what I’m taking from that is you are set up for Halloween all year long!
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:A little out of the way.
The main deterrent is my yard was fenced in 30 years ago and Beware of Dog signs posted.
No doorbell camera needed here.
We have had 12 so far. But the street is pretty dark. I can hear people walking at the end of the street but they aren’t coming for 1-5 houses.
I’d be so scared! I’ve picked up 3 pins, I watched my rear view mirror the whole time, tied them down with tarps on top of them, and still felt like they would fly out! Lol
Quoted from EJS:Nahhhh. Just keep it under 70MPH and your good.
[quoted image]
I still don’t have the guts to try this on my Bow and Arrow. I really have to try one of these days. I want to repaint it with new stenciling and try to get the playfield repainted and repaired.
Reading that makes me think of our downspouts around the buildings. For years the roofers used pressure washers from the roof to clear them. We used a new company this year, they came with Stihl back pack blowers and put them at the bottom and put them on high. Everything blew out the top perfectly in seconds as opposed to the hour or so of preparation to go in the roof with the pressure washers!
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:A shop vac works really good for getting rid of cobwebs.
Lol! Yes, I’ve played that game a few times! I was a dealer at the casino on midnight shift. It was not a fun game. Now I’m a property manager so I get to stay in the office during those games.
Quoted from titanpenguin:[quoted image]
We used to get those kind of storms here quite frequently. I love the way it looks believe it or not my favorite thing is to stand out in it and shovel it out of our driveway. I even clear my neighbours driveway and on the street in front of our houses. When the landscapers can’t get to the properties I’ve cleared the snow on the walkways there as well!
Quoted from titanpenguin:I’m done with it. One of the last years before we moved to Texas, we had a 24” blizzard, a 40” blizzard (over 30 hrs), and two more 18-20” blizzards in one winter. Not Buffalo NY bad, but I was done. I had to drive through each one too.
I didn’t have the chance but I will if anything is open tomorrow. I had a pretty busy day with just complaints. When people are on holiday and they are bored they see EVERY imperfection and try to get the corporations to pay for it. Most of it is their own responsibility so I have to send them a copy of the Declaration to prove it.
It’s honestly something my dad would do! He wouldn’t even come close to trying to find a part source. Fix it by any means possible! Lol
It’s spring it gets pretty busy during season changes. It will calm down pretty soon. Yes, most of my job is sitting in the truck waiting for contractors. So the other day there was a pile of aluminum and steel. I decided to grab it when I was on the way home I picked up a washer and dryer got $40 out of the deal. Not finding money but kind of the same thing.
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:Hopefully that is a good thing. I know that you used to get bored at work and was here a lot because of the boredom.
Back when I was working construction, if I was in the city, I would walk around and look for money, just to waste time and goof off, if I was waiting for something to happen to get my work going again. I found some money sometimes, best was a $5 bill one time.
Working way out in the middle of nowhere in the woods, I would look at the land, and the trees, and see the history of how all that is the reason it is now.
It’s an Aquarium. The front glass gets full of algae quickly because it sits under that window. Endlers, Pygmy Cory, pea puffers, killifish and scarlet badis.
Post some pictures!
Quoted from JohnTTwo:You going to go full Old Man on the tools? Those drawers need labels! I am doing my soon.
lol, I’m busy with work right now! I have my priorities all wrong!
Quoted from mtn-:I really like Stars.
Johnny & Zartan, are you not organized?
Not pinball related but getting organized.
Oliver (Chihuahua) has already marked my new drywall as his!
Can you please remove the picture with the personal information on it. My taxes are there. I didn’t notice until it was pointed out
Thank you
I always either have 5 or none!
Quoted from EJS:I spent some time the other night cleaning up. If you need a tape measure Zartan I’m your guy. I found a lifetime supply of them around my house. Except for the Milwaukee one that was left behind in a vehicle of a guy we no longer employ. At least he was honest enough to leave it.
[quoted image]
It’s just a small two piece bathroom. It will only be used every once in a while. If I get one it will be one of the Home Depot ones.
We are due by April 30th. I wait for my RRSP receipt to do taxes. Most years I have filed and received my check long before the deadline.
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:Zartan just curious, every year in the USA we have to file taxes by April 15th, sometimes a different date, if the 15th falls on a weekend, in Canada, do you have certain days that you have to get things done by?
Most people here wait to the last minute, and even file extensions, but I like my accountant, so I always do that stuff as early as I can, while my accountant isn't very busy.
I think most people don’t have a pin because they “know someone” that owns a couple. I’ve noticed Most of the people that own them aren’t on here, but have joined a social media group to discuss them. I don’t have any social media accounts outside of Pinside and YouTube.
Quoted from EJS:They don’t. I wouldn’t consider them pinball people per se but my little cousin put up a high score on the Metallica that’s at my house. I don’t think it’s standing anymore since a few high ranked MN players have been through here over the last few years. They wouldn’t go out to play pinball but if they went somewhere that had them I’m sure they’d play a game or two.
My aunt loves the older games. My uncle is a huge baseball fan. Go to a game with him and he’ll tell you where all the players came from in the minors, their school etc. If they still lived up here I’d loan them my GTB baseball I’m about to restore this summer.
