I am trying to get clear vinyl decals printed witg white designs to go on some clear ramps - all the local printers are saying they cannot print white onto clear vinyl, they arent set up for it.

Can anyone recommend a printer that can do white on clear decals?

    Hi.
You need to find a printer that has an hp indego or a Fuji xerox c1000i.
    Cannon does one as well.

I can’t help out as in New Zealand and not using that gear now.

Alps 1000 or 5000 printers from the 90s can print white, gold and silver colors. They are wax based ribbons that are used. Will need a Windows xp, VM of xp or older machine to run it

I have one and use it for this type of stuff as nothing else is realistically available

I would choose a different way to print your art. Printing ANYTHING onto clear is a very tricky thing to do.

Chose a background colour and cut out your decal maybe?

It's tough to find a local shop that can do it. I've done clear car decals from both of these with good results. If your mounting them under the ramp choose inside-glass as the print surface. Vista prints 3m material is much nicer to work with but you are limited to their specific sizes.

Hey thanks very much for this suggestion - just received and cut out my decals (12x12") did the trick for both - I should have remembered to add more useful decals into the blank space but !

Looks like a good way to reproduce plastics

Glad it worked out, I forgot to use up the extra space the first time as well. Don't worry, you will find other stuff to print now.

That's how I've been doing mine. I draw up the svg in Inkscape to have the plastic laser cut and get decals printed to mount to the back for the graphics. I used to do waterslides at home but that was limited by the size paper I could print and not being able to do white. The decal material also sticks better than the waterslide.

I did these for Mushroom World

And these for my South Park

    Those are very impressive!

Just wanted to follow up with some pics - loving the way these decals look with my clear Pinbot ramps!

Alao I did end up printing these just a hair too large - they will work, but apparently I should have assumed the inner 'bleed line' in Vista prints design area was the 12"x12" segment - not the outer line. Will know for next time
