I have a High Speed 2 that my granddaughter who lives with me pointed out that the display on this machine was not counting laps past 3 and some times not at all when the ball was spinning around the circular metal ramp at the top of the machine. At times the ball will go as many as 7 or 8 times around without counting the laps made. Any help with this be greatly appreciated. Scoring and everything else appears to work.

In other words it does not count 1 million, 2 million, etc. each time the ball goes around.
Granddaughter is miffed because she cannot beat her high score.

There is an opto-sensor on the front right side of the tri-oval. Go into settings, tests, switch edges. Block the path between the opto led and sensor. Make sure it is correctly working each time you block it. It could be dirty, broken or bad solder joint. Try cleaning it first. Q-tip and alcohol. If that doesn't do the trick, in switch test mode, block the sensor and wiggle the wires to see if you have a loose wire or bad solder joint. I hope it's something that easy.
