I am having an issue with a Getaway where I am getting the diverter error message.

Everything still looks to be working and I am unable to identify the cause. All of the optos are working in test and the divertor is working and all other switches and solenoids are working as they should.

Has anyone seen this before or am I missing something.

Have you tried the solenoid test? Divertor in particular. See if the hold winding is working. Coil has 2 parts similar to a flipper coil. Also their is an exit microswitch on the wireform ramp that could be intermittent and cause the error.

Thanks for your help. I have tried the solenoid test and the diverter hi and Lo both activate. The exit switch is also working on exit.

I have just noticed in switch test all the optos are registering (tested by hand and running a ball through). In the supercharger test only opto switch 1 is registering. The other 2 optos are not.

Is it likely there is an issue with the optos themselves or the opto board.

Yes.

Because the machine doesn't know what a diverter is. Just that a switch before it or after it didn't work when it should have.

I'm having the same problem with my diverter also. I'm pretty sure that it's going to be the opto's. I will be working on mine tomorrow. Oh and I have read that you should test the opto's with the ball and not your fingers in the switch test as the fingers could give you a false reading. Just what I have read.

Ok thanks. I have rebuilt the opto board and replaced the opto's and it looks like everything is regeistering during gameplay. In test it is a little hit and miss where if the ball is rolled through fast it would not register correctly.

I still have a concern where if I don't make the supercharger shot in a game the credit dot comes up and if I make the shot it goes away. Should I be getting the diverter error after 1 game. I thought it would be after a number of games.

Has anyone seen this before. Thank you all for your assistance.

I have that happen when non pinball people come over but it usually isn't one game. If everything else is working, and you get that alert for missing the shot, it is normal at least with L2 that I have. I have had this game for nearly 12 years...
