The

Quoted from SUPERBEE:

Can someone please show me the inside of their Getaway cabinet showing how the playfield hinges hook onto the cab ? Mine are off and cant figure it out.

had to change the slide assemblies too on my machine, part number is A-17749.1-2, replaces A-16637-2, A-15421-2

There were 2 different assemblies mounted in my machine so it didn't work at all. Changing them was fairly easy, the lowest screws are in a T-nut, the others are simple woodscrews.

cheers

Quoted from SUPERBEE:

Thanks a lot but i still dont get how it attaches to the bolts on the cabinet. Am i missing something here ?

Just slide them in. In upright position the part of the slide mechanism that's held back by the spring just sits on the bolt! When you lower the playfield it slides out and doesn't sit on the bolt anymore.

Really easy: When you are finished changing the slide assemblies just lower the playfield and everything will spring right in it's place.

Just received my mountain from tilted81 (thanks a lot for shipping overseas!) and decided to do a little painting over the weekend. Looks very nice

Great job painting the mountain, Ben. Looks like it blends in real well.

Thanks a lot! When i put it in i thought i missed the over the top, comic approach of the mountain depicted on the plastics, but the more i look at it the better i like it. The realistic approach indeed blends in with the chrome and steel colors of the supercharger very well.

Quoted from indypinhead:

What paints/colors did you use?

I mainly used these 4 colors, basic waterbased acrylics.
image.jpgimage.jpg

First step is to prime the whole thing to get rid of the original color and to prepare it for taking the colors. I used a spray on fine surface primer for plastic & metal.

When the primer was dry i coated the whole thing in an earth kind of color, a mix of raw umber and mars black. Let this coat dry and then started to drybrush with a greyish color (white & black). Really went crazy here until it did look like a rocky surface.

Snow is mostly white with a tiny drop of a light blue color. Applied heavily on top surface, drybrushed on steeper areas where snow could not pile up and would be blown away from winds.

The tunnel entrance was done in a reddish mix of burnt siena and a little raw umber.

Last step was a dark wash with a heavily diluted black color to darken the cracks and crevaces.

Nice youtube video for inspiration, just look for model railroad landscaping

Now i quit talking because i start sounding awfully lot like Bob Ross

Cheers,
Ben

Looks awesome! Especially the ramp entrance light and the blue post rubbers. Also like your mountain paintjob

Picked up Indy's nice traffic light mod.

Super useful mod, the traffic light look so much better without light leakage, love mine!

This thread rocks! Was so close to selling my beautiful getaway, but had an awesome time playing yesterday and got second thoughts. Today i visited this thread after months and found so many ideas to spice up my machine that it's not going to leave soon

Started tonight with some decal goodnes from mr tantrum, thanks a lot buddy!

Going to order some more led strips and gi lights tomorrow! Definitely want to switch the GI back to white, do the hairpin lights and also fabricate the new plastics on top of the left traffic light targets. My machine is really beautiful, lots of flasher strips already installed but the GI is so darn dark, gonna change that!

So many creative ways to mod in this thread, thanks to everyone, really enjoying it
Cheers
