Quoted from Jimmyd044:

Upgraded from L1 to L2 last nite. Unplug the machine to be safe, pull the batteries, replace the chip and that's it. Set new time and date on the menu and customize your setting ( free play, 3 or 5 balls) etc..........

You don't need to pull the batteries. The game is going to factory reset itself anyway because the checksums are different in different revisions of ROMS and leaving the batteries in while you swap ROMs will not cause any problems.

They are all buggy as hell but L-2 seems to be the most stable one of the bunch. I switched from L-5 to L-2 on mine years ago.

Yes they were. They ALL were regardless of whether or not there's a logo on the playfield.

Quoted from dtown:

Than I tell you what buddy. Why don't you email Jay at ipdb and tell him to change the page.
Because both myself and many others go by this website as "almost" gospel.

I guess the fact I worked for Williams disqualifies me from knowing. Carry on...

Quoted from dtown:

Well then email Jay to get it changed. Misinformation is the enemy.

It's your gospel, not mine. I have no idea who this Jay is so why don't you go ahead. I was simply correcting your misinformation.

Quoted from kimzone:

i am going to buy getaway 2 machine in 2weeks time. would be good buy some lighting bolt flippers for it or normal ones?

If you want the game to suck then absolutely put those lightning flippers in there.

Quoted from reboot:

Ok the plot thickens on my "proto" machine. I think it is DP as the play field is still near mint and I have the barcode sticker under the left outlane and it looks to be cleared over. I do not have "Diamond Plate" listed on the right side though.
So I am going to assume it has a DP coat on it. Which leads to my next question... Is it safe for me to pop out an insert to relevel it? I assume so since its raised but want to make sure. I have done this on other machines I own but they do not have a DP clear on them.

They ALL have diamondplate/clearcoated playfields regardless of the playfield having the logo printed on it or not.

I can't answer your question about the insert though, I have no experience with doing that.
