Quoted from jrcmlc:

I may have already beat this to death but I'm revisiting it.... Who makes the "best" art blades for getaway? I see tilt and then on modfather they show a different tilt with the police car, then there is the UK version with the explosion and cop cars, none really blow me away, looking for thoughts.

I've seen a few variants online but the only one I've seen in person is the mountain range one. I think it was Tilts website that sells them. After seeing them in person at a pinball arcade, I was super disappointed with how they looked. Art looked too different from the rest of the game and made it feel cheap to me. Decided mirror blades will look the best to me so that's what I ordered. I should have them in a few weeks.

I don't care for art blades I've always liked the black cabinet and always will; however, mirror blades do look great in Pulp Fiction, there are no switches and wires that it's highlighting but of course this is all subjective and my opinion.

Bought new trim for my back glass from pbl, think it was $18 or so. Turns out there is a difference in the trim size between wpc and wpc95 games so it's useless..

I moved the colordmd to my NGG and switched it back to runny crayon and we both really like it in that game.

Look what I started.

I have 3 white flipper bats purchased from pbl new, never installed, paid $17.85 + shipping. If anyone wants them, $15 shipped to conus.

Hey guys, I am in the market for some Getaway cabinet decals and was looking for recommendations.

I got a set from Classic Arcades, but the sizing seemed off, the vinyl pretty thin, and I see screens of other restorations with a darker red (might just be my monitor graphics card settings though).

any guidance would be appreciated.

I bought mine on EBay and was very happy with them. The red seemed dark and rich.

#13058 4 months ago

I installed a red start button today. And red cabinet protectors. #pimped. Lol

#13059 4 months ago

Oh, and a trough light using comet matrix stuff.

#13060 4 months ago

Might shoot 80spit a message he was going to get me some decals and do some cabinet work, he would know the best place to get them / where to get the best quality I'd think.

Anybody replace their plastic set and have a spare one of these? Mine is completely busted.

There is a full set listed cheap in the market I think, or there is some guy on ebay buying full sets and gouging for individual pieces.

So I bought the awesome Doughnut Haven mod from Mr. Tantrum. I go to install it and noticed the wires for the micro switches are in the way…is anyone else’s machine like this? Any advice on what to do? TIA

I think those wires are on the back (blade) side of mine.

Just remove the two screws securing the switches, and route each switch correctly one at a time.

#13067 4 months ago

They are supposed to run around the backside ya?

Don't see the full set but I definitely found the guy charging big $$ for each individual piece...

#13069 4 months ago

I guess it ended already. Absolute pinball in Canada has the full cpr set for very reasonable considering the exchange rate. I think I have a coupon code somewhere if you go that route just pm me.

Yes, at least in my game they have always run around the back/cabinet side.

#13071 4 months ago

I’ve gone through a couple with the doughnut unit. First one was just fine. Second one had the wires in the way like you mentioned. I had to remove the parts on the right and unsolder a couple wires the re connect them so it would work.
It’s not too bad if you’re experienced for that stuff. Might be a bit of a PITA if not experienced.
But it’ll turn out looking MINT when done.

I used the ones from PPS and they look great. The "red" is a glow in the dark red/orange and glows like crazy under black light (if that is what you are looking for). Only little thing is that there isn't much "bleed" so you have to position them carefully so the "seam" is under the metal side rails. Hey guys….turned my game on and getting an error message. Test report reveals Switch 67…made L Ramp…is that the optos on the entrance of the supercharger ramp?

[quoted image]

From the manual:Screenshot_20230603-215616.pngScreenshot_20230603-215616.png

Make sure the connector for the ramp is firmly connected under the playfield. If it works when triggered manually, it's possible it just hasn't been activated in-game for a while (which will eventually cause a switch error to appear upon boot-up). If it's not registering at all, could be a broken wire or diode on the switch, or bad switch and/or actuator on the switch.

Hey Everyone,

For those who are interested, I have been working on some mods for my Getaway about 90% there with the SuperCharger, still working on the Orchestration plan to change 100% of the sound effects, Music etc. The SuperCharger is servo controlled 3D printed, flame effect LEDs with full brightness pulse on flash.

The LED loop is not a Pinduino it is controlled by the SuperCharger and is 126 COB LED 5mm strip. Custom DMD/Speaker Panel with 5" Speakers and LEDs which is work in progress.

The POPs colours match the traffic light status colour.

I Plan to add Sound to SuperCharger control with stumblor Pinpoint Board at a later date.

Awesome to finally see it in action Phil, and what a treat it is! Fricken incredible!!! The servo controlled intakes is genius, I absolutely love it. Makes me what to find a HS2 just so I can install it

Full credit where credit is due, this is brilliant work, my compliments!

Its definitely not for me though... The LED strip is too distracting, that "broken record" EDM noise would drive me nuts in about 3 minutes.
Being an extreme exotic car enthusiast, the air scoop thing in my game has been as de-emphasized as possible, because a blower scoop on a Diablo is an absolute abomination.

Yeah didnt think the EDM would be everyone's choice, Growing up in the 90s in the UK it was what I got hooked on. I didnt want to create just different known songs playing, just develop it from samples with similar BPM. I did think some of the samples may be too repetitive but listening to the Original sound tracks they are looped quite a lot also.

The LED loop of course can be changed so it is off (No Sparkle) and just does a loop when the ball goes round.

I do not think the Video does it 100% justice seems too much glare on the LEDs when in fact they are quite toned down. The loop background red is hardly lit about 10% but it looks much brighter on the video.

Hello group, just found this thread.
Recently purchase Getaway and came across a problem with only half the GI lights working and the "special" large bulbs stopped working as well. Any help suggestions on how to fix this issue?
Thank you in advance

The Gi could be the connector burnt, mine was. Connectors J120 and J121 are for the GI to the playfield and backbox

So if burnt they can just be replaced? I looked for a blown fuse but didn't see anything suspicious

TEST the fuses, sometimes they can look fine but aren't If not a fuse then as mentioned the connectors for the GI may need some inspection, could be as simple as some loose wires into the connector.

It's been mentioned but the obvious solutions are the J120 Molex connector and the pins and fuses. I would suspect the J120 is the culprit. Yes, these can be repaired but if your pins are bad then replacing the adapter will eventually fail. These can be rebuilt...

11 pin .156 connector and .156 trifurcon female connector plus I'd buy a crimping tool. I keep a stash of various sized molex connectors, pins, and plenty of the trifurcons on hand because I always seem to ruin a few when replacing them.

I saw an Easter Egg for Getaway here for the first time: https://arcarc.xmission.com/Pinball/Easter%20Eggs/CowsEaster.htm

"Hello World: With the ball in the shooter lane, press the following sequence: 3L, 1R, 3L, 1R, 3L, 2R"

However, when I try it nothing happens (running L2). Does this do anything for anyone else?

Here’s the one we have. It starts the sequence with both flippers for Hello World. We’re on L1

Did you use the sequence from Mr Tantrum but starting with both flippers and right after starting a game before plunging? The sequence is: Both, 3L, 1R, 3L, 1R, 3L, 1R, 3L, 2R.

I tried them on mine tonight and they all worked on L-1, too. It was a real bummer I had to squeeze in a few games tonight.

Side note: I got my apron cards that you made all installed and they look great! Thanks!

I tried your sequence and it worked (L-2): with 1st ball in shooter lane, B, 3L, 1R, 3L, 1R, 3L, 1R, 3L, 2R) and it worked.
