Quoted from transprtr4u:Bathburg new playfield just shipped , can't wait he does great playfields
ordered one too with a playfield protector.
new decals going in as well.

Hmm...anyone have a picture that shows about what the height of the vertical right flipper guide rail should be? The ball's come out of the super charger on bad shots enough times and basically flattened it down to the playfield. I was going to fill the holes and try to redo them but was wondering about how high to go as to not make it "too" easy.
... taking a closer look at this, I'm pretty sure the guide wasn't meant to go all the way through the wood which it now definitely has

Can you post a pic of the area you are referencing?
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Can you post a pic of the area you are referencing?
Yeah, it's here. I tried the toothpick + wood glue, but it still went through it. I'm thinking I'm going to have to do a more legitimate repair to fill the wood and let it set for 48 hours etc. But this at least made it tighter and will stave me off for the short term.
PXL_20210723_202134821 (resized).jpgI would fill it with wood filler, let it dry, redrill, paint and reinstall guide. If you don’t have wood filler some sawdust and glue will work.
Lets talk about the logic of coloring more complex scenes. My "favorite" hate-scene is the kickback scene, because it has all those dust particles that really make it difficult to understand, what exactly is shown and how to color it. Here is how I went about it.
Lets look at the initial frame:
The lambo drove through the kickback letters, making them explode and now particles are all over the place, distorting the view of the lambo and background.
In order to gain clarity I isolated the three elements: background, lambo, and dust.
Each of these elements needs to be cleaned and colored.
The road is easy, because it is used in a bunch of other scenes.
The lambo is a bit more tricky. First it needs to be reconstructed.
Now, the appropriate shading is applied from the pre-defined palettes, which I had created at the beginning and I am using consistently throughout.
Finally, the coarse 4-shade colors are detailed. In this step the exact lines are also corrected from "Ferrari GTO" to "Lamborghini Diablo" and all shades applied to make it as realistic as possible, but always sticking to the shading from before.
The dust is a real problem.
Working with the dust, I realized the each dust particle blacks out the pixel above, below and to the sides. This means the dust frame needs to be enhanced by opaque black around EVERY particle, accordingly. I do this on a green background, in order to distinguigh all elements.
Now the green backgraound gets replaced by "transparent" - which is the black color in the first 4-color palette. Like this the opaque black will overwrite anything this frame gets pasted on, whereas the "transparent" black will leave the initial colors alone.
Now, that all assetts are done, the car ist pasted onto the road and then the dust over that.
Also: I do intend to share this sooner or later. Currently I am working with a friend of mine, who is a patent attorney. He will pull up the IP, which is claimed to exist on this topic. Sharing will only happen in accordance with that IP. As I do not have it yet, I cannot yet say anything regarding what is in it and what that means. I do not need legal problems for a hobby and am going to make sure to not infringe any valid IP, even if others step into this grayscale and accept the risk of it. However, if a clean way of sharing this shows, it will be done. IF it cannot be shared based on IP claims, it will not be shared.

Has anyone used this updated part(lifts the ramp)?...I was looking at my ramp yesterday and I realized this has to extend via the back plywood before entering the ramp...seems like it would be too short...but It was just my guessing at it...anyone?
edit : this part

Great work @sprudeldudel ! Keep going, looking forward to the final result

Mine came last Monday, he does great work... shame to see it sit in the box. The playfield on my game doesn't warrant a swap , but someday will get around to it...

Just purchased a beautiful High speed 2 in excellent condition. When I start a game, the super charger light does not flash but the redline mania light flashes. I believe the yellow super charger light is supposed to flash at the start of a game. Even if the reline mania light is flashing, it doesn't necessarily mean that the ball will enter the supercharger.
Any help advice greatly appreciated as always.

They might just have gotten installed backwards. Left is right and right is left. Normally left side is supercharger yellow and right side is redline mania red.
Take a couple pictures of the backside showing the wiring colours.
EDIT: actually, on second thought, go into test mode and do the single lamp test and see what comes on for each of those.
I had accidentally soldered mine to the inner loop. That made for some quite fun gameplay actually as each outer loop would award a 2 way combo. Unfortunately the game would also experience some decent glitching. Mine's worked much better since moving it back, though I had one case where it seemed to be counting/triggering the super charger millions (GI would flash). I'll have to keep an eye on it. My diode might be dead.

You need to change the callout too . . .
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:You need to change the callout too . . .
Callouts is your domain. Anyway I do NOT intend to retheme, but that original driver always looked really strange to me. And thinking of sunglasses and that dead-neutral expression, only one character comes to my mind...

I loved it when I saw it, and think it would be a great Easter Egg to include in your colorization.
Good Morning all, The more I play this game the more I see things that are not correct. strange issue, when I use the flippers, Left and right, 90 points are awarded 90% of the time, when the super charger light (yellow) is on it awards 1 million 90 points. As far as I know there are no switches that award 90 points, to award 1 million the opto on the supercharger "exit" must be temporarily covered. I looked at all connectors and the opto board for cracked solder connections, the 2 resistors seemed to have cracked solder which I removed the old solder and applied new.
I also have the diverter cycle open/close randomly when the flippers are activated.
Searched around for this type of problem without luck.
TIA

No question in my mind who it was intended to be and it amazes me the creative geniuses in this hobby, it's really humbling but also very cool to part of this community.
I'd love to add this to my pin for the simple fact that I'd get a kick out of it but I have a ColorDMD, which to me is another creative genius group that has added so much to the hobby.
Another thumbs up to you for your work.

So yeah Mr. T, with your expertise with PinSound, you could work on that... "Sarah Connor?" "I'll be back!" "Come with me if you want to live."
I don't know, maybe it's rip off of T2 but a little spice might be cool? Probably too many issues to deal with but I'm just thinking out loud...

I don't have much direct help, but when I accidentally soldered my spinner to the inner loop and sent my ball around the outer loop it was causing erratic behavior such as this. I would have my super charger diverter occasionally opening for seemingly no reason. Have you gone into switch test and tried hitting the flippers to see if any additional switch hits are being registered?

I made a separate post in the tech forum, someone replied with a link to pinwiki that described my exact problem.
Here is the link if anyone ever has this problem.

That's awesome, congrats!
Quoted from Scott8806:did anyone ever make the real rpm guage to sell as a mod
No, I never did, just a personal project.
Yes I couldn't believe it when I saw it everyone says I have a machine I bought new and it's never moved but this one really took me by surprise now to put new rubbers leds color dmd and I need to get with u to put some of your cool mods on here
Quoted from Scott8806:and I need to get with u to put some of your cool mods on here
Please don't do anything irreversible - for a machine in this condition any change is a step down.
Oh I'm not everything I add will be plug and play I would never do anything to a machine this old and in this condition
I mainly want the color dmd leds new rubber the mountain and the donut shop all that is plug and play think those mods are the best for this machine would like to find someone to make the tachometer mods I know a few good modders here and over seas I'm going to reach out and see if one of them will make one

Holy cow! That's one crazy nice and new looking machine. Time capsule almost. And the reds are still red on the cabinet and the edges of the cabinet like under the lockdown bar aren't worn at all. Gorgeous. Nice find.
