Issue is when the diverter engages to the open position it doesn't stay open very long and closes quickly..
Did I wire these wires to the coil wrong?
Quoted from Jigs:This is a problem.
Do you have this bracket sitting on the coil sleeve flange?
[quoted image]
Yeah I think it's working now, I bent the bracket a little so it was flush.. This coil doesn't have a notch like most to hold it in place.. Just played a game on it and it seems to be working now.

Glad it works but it looks backwards to me now. Wiring is correct though. Weird.

I found someone on here who had a picture of theirs and I noticed mine was on backwards according to what they had..
Quoted from SUPERBEE:Something doesnt look right. The bracket should be sitting flush with the coil, not on top of it.

Is this the correct part to replace this plastic piece?? Just the plastic piece on my one sling arm is broken. It’s not associated to this game on Marcos website.

It should be stated in the manual.
Quoted from Kobaja:It should be stated in the manual.
Unless I missed it ... this parts breakout is not in the manual (seems odd). But I’m fairly certain now it is the correct part as this part is listed on other mechs in the game. Likely all the same.

It looks right but you can buy the whole arm with the plastic piece already installed.
Quoted from MJW:Thanks G money mods. Tried twice to rotate pic and can’t delete it. Sorry.
Looks great! Love the chrome trim on your machine!
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Diverter-Hi test causes the diverter gate to open and close. The Diverter-Lo test doesn't do anything observable or hearable on my Getaway.
May need someone else to chime in regarding what triggers the diverter-lo during gameplay. Credit dot may not go away until it is actually triggered once.
Working on a Getaway for a friend of a friend. The Outhole coil is definitely bad as the sleeve is melted to the plunger. During solenoid test, the Hi diverter fires but no sound during diverter Lo. Also, enable 1,2&3 have no sounds (Just magnets right?) My question is, where is the diverter Lo located and is it a solenoid like diverter Hi? Should i hear it fire?

Diverter Low is the diverter holding open under low power - like when you hold flippers on. To test hold the diverter open with your hand, turn on Diverter Low. It should remain open. If it stays open it is working if it closes at all it is not working/failing.
Enable are the magnets. Best way to test them overall is in the supercharger test.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Might want to consider a Pinduino if you are into the light show: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/getaway-club-dispatch-run-a-make-on-license-plate-kingpin/page/189#post-5009493
I finally installed my Pinduino. Thanks to lyonsden for shipping the unit and Mr_Tantrum for his getaway code. Its looks fantastic. I got the DIY kit and its fairly easy if you can solder a little bit.

Congrats, pin looks very nice.

Nice looking condition!! Had this machine been re-decaled previously? Just seems to be very new looking, as far as colour fade goes, but still been played enough for wear around the flipper button.
These cling on protectors from Titan Pinball are great for protecting the decals around the buttons. I have them on all my games.

Hi everyone I just joined the club. I got a nice machine but it has a problem. Once a game has started without lauching the ball if i hit the flipper i get points. And if I hit the flippers rapidly the diverter on the ramp opens and closes and it gives me 2 million points. It acts like the accelerator is working. In test mode all switches look good and register hits. The optos for the ramp and it the accelerator are closed. I have no Idea what could be causing this. Any advise? Thanks

I had a similar issue when I purchased mine 4 years ago: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/getaway-club-dispatch-run-a-make-on-license-plate-kingpin/page/52#post-3180197
Most likely the vibration of the flipper coils firing is triggering a switch or switches.
First thing to do is to go into go into switch test mode, activate your flippers, and see if/what switches are reacting. Then check these switches (wiring is soldered well, switch screws are tight, test them by hand to see if/how sensitive they are, etc.)
I believe that is the gate for the ball return trough to stop the balls from bouncing back into the outhole.

it is the shooter lane gate

No, these are the original decals. I believe these Getaways have decals that start a bit lower and its the painted section of the cabinet is what is worn around the flipper buttons. Its a nice game, but I am still tearing it apart and polishing the playfield. I am not a mods person so I just intend on refurbishing the parts that need it and get it playing stupid fast like my other Richie games.
So far I have replaced the GI connector and done some major cleaning on the inside of the cabinet. It plays 100% and the boards are all original and in great shape. Its been a well loved machine for awhile...definitely in a home collection but needs $200 in replacement parts and and some elbow grease.
It will look good next to the BSD I just finished refurbishing.

The red in your cab graphics look really good. Rare for this game. Welcome to the club !

My cabinet decals look pretty good but it is interesting to see how it faded. The left side is almost perfect but the bottom front is faded and right side is partially faded. It makes me wonder about where is was on route and how they had it displayed. Obviously the left side was against a wall or next to another pin but where was it on location... I think in a smoke filled bar near a window somewhere in Germany.
Anyway, your point is well taken, it's rare to see the cabinet decals look that vibrant.
Quoted from peteyhugs:Added a little chrome molding to the back box.

Haha! true. Maybe better than the other god awful mods people put on this game.
I'm going to need to replace the rear ramp flap(the one that goes up and down). Where can I get one?
Thanks in advance,
Pete

You can cut and make your own. I ordered a sheet of blue spring steel from Steve at PBR for my Checkpoint ramp. Traced the old ramp flap, cut and reinstalled!
Just finished cleaning mine up. Full playfield strip and some cabinet clean up. Comet LEDs. Time to put it in the lineup.

Very nice looking original (from what I can tell) example of Getaway.

Thank you. Game is pretty original except for the HAPP coin door. Pretty easy game to shop I must say. Tons of metal to polish but no ramps to flame.

Photo tip . . . You might want to close the door to the water closet next time you’re showing off a pin. I’m just glad nobody was on the throne.

Had the same issue with my game room bathroom. Went to Home Depot, bought and installed an auto-closing hinge and adjusted it so the door is only open a crack when released. Much happier with the aesthetics.

Your cabinet decals look great. Nice deep reds. Where did you get them?
