Nice!
One more thing ...
A new "Switchcover" replacing the ugly original one

These pictures are from an early version of this thing... just to give you an idea what it looks like
...see next post for pictures of the final one!

2018-10-18 19_32_55-Window (resized).pngP1060778(1) (resized).JPGP1060779(1) (resized).JPGWell, I just ordered a new "ugly original one" since the one on the back right was missing for me (you know there are two of these used, right?).
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Well, I just ordered a new "ugly original one" since the one on the back right was missing for me (you know there are two of these used, right?).
Sure... my second one was missing too
And as I was making them, I thought a freeway sign would be a good idea
Maybe I should add LEDs behind it?

Love it!
I just added a 2mm small (less wider) body... use this for the cover in the back right! The bigger one interferes with the post next to it....

A flashing yellow caution light would be perfect.

or .... It could be tied to the freeway-insert-lamp below it ?

BTW: Shouldn’t your sign say “AUTOBAHN”?
My Getaway is still down and I probably can’t get to it this week - i’m having serious withdrawal.
I have the parts, but just finding the time to pull the power driver board and do the soldering is tough right now. I’m even busy all weekend and probably won’t get to it.
Price you pay when you only have one pin, I guess.
Quoted from fishbone:ollig is on a roll, I love it.
Teaser for the next thing to come
2018-10-19 20_28_57-Window (resized).pngNews!!!!
..... I've setup a Shop at Shapeways:
https://www.shapeways.com/shops/olligpinballmods
(Don't blame me for their high price-tags ............ My earning is about 10-15$ on each kit)
I will add all my mods there in the near future....
So far there is :
- the Donut Heaven
- the Traffic Light
- the Supercharger Sign
- .....more to come
You have different color options for the individual parts.....
For example the traffic light exists of two items to order... normally one is yellow the other is black....
But you can also configure an all black traffic light... or all yellow... or inversed.... depending on the colorchoices you make on the two items...
Feedback is always welcome!
Hope to see some pictures of your machines with the mods here soon!
This started as a simple cover for the optos....
Then I had to find a way to make sure they don't fall off....
This triggered the idea for this supercharger air flow... thingi.....
This is not finished jet... There will be a little housing behind it... Filled with a white or red 12V led stripe attached to one of the flashers...so that those red turbines flash red....

Quoted from KJS:HI guys. Got a bit over zealous and broke my ramp pin. The long one. Ordered the right number part and the shorter version showed. Is this ok?
[quoted image]
Did anyone determine what the proper PN is for the Crank Pin (goes from the slot of the A-12577 Lift Crank Assembly to Under the Ramp) for Getaway HS2 as mine broke as well. I see Marco Specialties has both a 02-4268 Pin Crank and 02-4429 Pin Crank and am not sure which one? Thanks.
I just added the switchcovers on Shapeways too...

Yup you need to expand your collection.
Yeah, problem is now that i’ve had the learning experience with my Getaway restoration, next time I want one that is ready to go which means more $$$$. I’m sure at some point I’ll find a deal on a title I’m interested in.
Well, I just finished my first ever board repair successfully. Didn't really have all the best tools for the job, but I was able to cleanly remove Q42 and also replace it with a working part successfully. I'm not going to say it was fun (a little nerve racking, actually), however, I must admit that I'm a little proud of myself for accomplishing it. What a joy when I flipped the switch, and not only did nothing explode, but my flashers now all work again.

That's great to hear. Just think how much easier it would have been if you had the proper tools like the pros. Now we know where to send our boards.
Quoted from i_b_flippin:My test says that my opto 81 is stuck open. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Check for cold solder joint on the optos attached to the supercharger...
Seems to be a common problem as they are rattled a lot, when the ball "flies" ....
Re-heat and re-solder the joints....

thank you, will resoler and hope for the best!

Just to double down on OlliG, I went through this a couple of times with my Getaway. In the end, I just bought all new sets of optos and replaced every pair on the game . . . haven't had a single issue since. Maybe the optos were never designed to last for 25+ years.

Right, as well built as this era of pinball machines were made, they didn't build any of them to last that long, a few years in an arcade was about it, although, home use has extended the life expectancy
Hi guys,I’m looking for a Gateway coindoor decal,if someone have one or can make one I’m interested
Thanks

That would be custom regardless. There is no factory decal on the door.

I can design one, what did you have in mind?
Also, I don’t know that I have stock coin door. Can someone provide exact dimensions for decal area?
Quoted from flynnibus:That would be custom regardless. There is no factory decal on the door.
The decal for the supercharger looks good on the coin door. Cut length to size. They used to be available. My ramp is chromed so didn’t put a decal on the ramp.

Would like to see a photo of that.

Dang, my Leg Lights, Pincup Light and beatmasters shooter housing light up would REALLY light up all that chrome.
