Hi all picked up a Project Getaway new to the pinball ownership and enjoy it alot the main reason i have got 6 in the passed month....as i like to tinker and find out how things work i was thinking this would be a good little/big project and only add value to the machine.

The machine was left out in a shed it didn't weather well so my plan is to replace back of backbox and bottom of the main cabinet first day on the project was just sanding and removing things will try keep it as up to date as possible decal have been ordered and will be here in a week or 2 going on a trip to Thailand so over the next 2 weeks there will be no updates

The playfield was stripped before i got it so i need to some how work out where everything goes and put it back together..... fun times also the inserts are starting to lift in a few spots so will need to remove clean and re glue if anyone knows a easier way please feel free to let me know... ?

also if anyone has photos of the playfield please post away would like to see how everything goes back together

Lots of rust removal and cleaning to come...

Thanks for looking and help feedback or just to tell me or your doing that wrong all feedback is good so please fire away

Thanks

Incredible undertaking, this will be impressive when you are done. For all kinds of pics of Getaway, search the 1,500+ pics in the Getaway owners thread: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/getaway-club-dispatch-run-a-make-on-license-plate-kingpin?gallery#g

Agreed, that PF is in pretty good shape, especially considering the way it looked.

The rock mountain is a mod, it's not being made anymore so it's sought after. The playfield looks like it cleaned up pretty well and the boards didn't look too bad. Good luck with your project, you'll enjoy playing it once you get it done, it's a great pin.

When you are ready for cabinet decals, I have a good source for you and very affordable compared to most.

FYI, there is word on the street that someone is about to offer their version of the mountain mod. They've only published blurred out photos so far, but it looks like they are getting close to offering them. I don't know if they are molded or 3D printed, but for those who like the mountain, there may be some hope soon.

Way to go on this restoration. Rooting for ya!

Yes, it's a mod that was a limited run, the plastic is something I threw together, I didn't like the way the stock plastic looked with the Mt. mod.

As Mr T pointed out, Mezelmods implied, with a fuzzy pic, that he was working on a Mt mod, I don't know if it will be based off the prototype like the one you see in my pic or his version of the MT... many are waiting to see the actual reveal.

I can tell you are pretty handy with the pins but if you get stuck pop in the Getaway forum, there are plenty of people that may be able to help you if you're stuck on something.

Good luck.
