Six
Right you are, good job!
Quoted from Darscot:Two and that is about the same number of seconds that it took to solve the riddle
You got the first part, but haven’t done the second part.
I don't understand the first part and the second part. I know the answer. But I don't get it. Need more explanation please.
Why do you sometimes say you've done the first part but not the second part?
3
Same here. Don’t know what the first and second parts are.
I guess 3 is my answer. Took me about that many seconds to decide my answer but I have no clue how the first guy knew what the hell you were talking about. I have no clue what any part of your riddle actually means.

It’s really a puzzle, not a riddle. There is an actual, concrete, word-for-word message contained in the first post. Once you find it, it tells you to do two things. Some have seen others do the first part and imitated it, but they never cracked the code and got the actual message. When you get it, there will be no confusion about what the two parts are. Doing both parts proves that you actually figured out the message.
As an analogy, suppose I instead posted a word search puzzle with a list of words to find, and the remaining unused letters after you found all the words said “post your birthday in this thread and then post what your favorite pin is in thread X.” You could see everyone posting their birthday and then post your own birthday without solving the puzzle to get the message, but if you didn’t also post your favorite pin in the other thread, it would show that you didn’t solve the puzzle.
Quoted from Halpain17:Three. But with the second part this time...
Right you are! Good job!
Quoted from cmack750:One.... And isn't post #2 technically only half correct?
If you are following the message, yes, post #2 is exactly correct, and provable with a simple read of the instructions and deductible logic.
Quoted from Bublehead:If you are following the message, yes, post #2 is exactly correct, and provable with a simple read of the instructions and deductible logic.
Exactly correct, but can't be proven.... Only deduced.
But isn't deduction the process that brings forth and constitues a proof?, as evidenced by way of wikipedia:
“The process of deduction is what constitutes a proof;”
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_deduction#Judgments_and_propositions
Just for arguments sake?
Was simply meant to point out the irony that the OP wasn't able to complete the puzzle..... as a good natured JOKE. Not funny I guess.... (insert cricket chirping sound here)
Actually, it was a good obsevation that made me go back and think about it... which might even help those still lost, maybe a little... but only in a bizarre, backwards way.
Quoted from cmack750:One.... And isn't post #2 technically only half correct?
You got it, congratulations. And take post #2 either way: it was fully correct because the second part was logically impossible or it is the “exception that proves the rule”.
Quoted from DanQverymuch:He never claimed his own answer was complete, did he?
That’s right, because it couldn’t be. It was simply necessary.
Quoted from Boat:Two, this took me way too long to figure out
Good job, thanks for persevering!
Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:Do we get a participation trophy for trying?
Sorry, trophies aren’t in the budget.
Quoted from luch:is it 1
You got the first part, but it looks like you haven’t cracked the code to get the full message in the first post. When you get the message, you won’t need to ask whether a response is correct. You’ll know. See post #260 for a more complete explanation.
Quoted from plankalkul:three.
thank you that was fun!
Good job, and thanks for the comment!
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:one, two or three work fine, but I’ll guess four.
Not even close...
Quoted from jkdblaze:2, the clue from the OP on this page finally cracked it for me!
Correct you are! Hopefully post #260 will help more Pinsiders.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:fife aka 5, V, cinco or FIVE
freaking finally
was lost w/o the clue.
Si, ja, oui! Sehr gut, good job!
Quoted from luch:it is two for the second part
That’s not it. The second part is clear when you get the message. Cool avatar, BTW.
