On my Genie, often times lamps that should be on do not go on, and will come on after certain events....ALL of these lamps work fine 100% of the time in attract mode and I'm positive the lamps themselves are not loose.

For example, when 6000 bonus is achieved or 3x multiplier, they won't light, and then later in the ball the 3x light will come on. Another time, the top lanes showed ABCD lit and the matching set on the lower left showed A D. As soon as the ball was shot and triggered a switch, all the proper lights came on in the lower left set.

I know WPC but this is my first System 1 so I'm a bit green with how the lamps work in attract but not in-game sporadically. Anything I should check? Game has a ni-wumph CPU and original power board.

I'll double check those but I didn't think it was a connection issue because when the goofed up lights come back on, it's not the result of vibration. For example, if 3x is out I could hit the flippers and bang the machine all day and it won't come on, but I'll hit a standup or a roll-over with barely any force and then poof it comes on.

In another instance, in a 2-player game the 2nd player display went off, and as soon as a switch was rolled over in the top ABCD lanes, it came on and all was well for the remainder of the game. Weird stuff.

Quoted from Cheddar:

I assume because you said attract mode that you have a Pascal board.

It's a ni-wumpf which can also do attract lights. Yes, def have the right game selected.

Quoted from zacaj:

The lights are piped over from the MPU to the driver in groups of four and latched, so if it lost the original latch to turn on 6k, for instance, but 3x was in the same 4 bank, then when it latches 3x later it'll also fix the 6k

Interesting, so still check the connections in the backbox? Haven't gotten home to do that yet but just want to be sure all the bases are covered before I dive in.
