Geni pinball blows 2 amp slo-blo drop target fuse under playfield. I replaced the solenoids on the 7 and 4 banks but the fuse still blows. Any ideas would be helpful.

Is this instantly or after a little while? System 1 Gottlieb's are designed way close to the limit of the fuse. Replace it with a 2.5 amp slow blow if you can't find a short.

Did you replace them with the correct solenoid coils as per the manual?

A-18102 - 7-target Banks
A-18318 - 4-target Bank

Different coils could have different resistances and therefore may draw more current than the fuse can handle.

Yes got the correct ones .

Instantly.

Then you have a dead short and need to methodically track it down with your DMM and the schematic. It's a process of isolation and testing.

Also, nobody mentioned the diodes yet. Is their polarity correct as per the wiring diagram?

Instantly.

In that case you have a failed component or a short. Provide some photos. Maybe we can spot something.

Tried the 2.5 slo-blo fuse. Still blew instantly.

Of course it did. His previous advice only applied in the case of it not blowing instantly. Since that comment, both him and I advised that you should methodically troubleshoot and look for a dead short. There is no point in feeding it more fuses.
