This is a Game Plan Old Coney Island!, and I putting together stuff that hasn't been used in a while, with no knowledge of whether anything was working. All lamps were visually inspected, and anything looking corroded, etc. was replaced. The power board is a Gulf Pinball that I had to hack to get working. With only the backbox general illumination (GI) pinset plugged into the power board, the GI lamps there work fine, nice & strong (#47). However, when the playfield pinset plugged in as well, some of the GI lamps (mainly toward the bottom) of the playfield worked (but rather weakly), some not at all, some not originally not working until I moved it around with my finger, and some that were very weak. Then after moving around some, the GI fuse blew.
I guess I need to test the resistance of each GI lamp on the playfield to see if anything is shorted? My experience with shorted lamps has only been with driven lamps in early Bally SS, which is easy to figure out because the shorted ones are out of phase from the good ones.
