After 3 months of blood, sweat and tears (and help from friendly Pinsiders) I finished my Genco Big Top Project.
Here's the before pics.

It had been hand painted on the cab, was not working, and filthy, but pretty much complete.
I made stencils, stripped all the paint, repainted, re-stained, etc. I bought Montana Gold spray for the colors but only used the orange. The red and yellow Monatana squirted drips, so i went to Michaels and bought Krylon cans, and they worked perfectly. May be me as I know Montana have a good rep. but hey, happy with the Krylon.
I had to make one of the clowns hands and a couple of ducks, redo the candles, clean up the duck chain, clean all the steppers, rebuilt a motor score box, etc. Replaced power cable and added earth wire - connected to main power switch. Bought the correct wattage/size lamps, rebuilt kicker mechanism, replaced the mirror, the list goes on a bit when I think about it!
Restored the gun stock and barrel using Birchwood Casey "complete Tru-oil gun stock finish kit" and Bluewonder gun kit respectively. Very happy with the results from both of those products.
All works now correctly. May get a new glass from Bgresto, not sure yet. I think I'll keep this machine, I love the look of it. Plus not sure they go for much anyway (price thoughts welcome)
Thanks to all those who provided advice along the way!
