Awesome product. I just got a Fireball II and the S&T wasn't working. I popped in your board and everything sounds great. Good job! I may have to get another for my Centaur.

Thanks. I really like the way it turned out.
Except for one sound. What do you think about the ending sounds? Where it says "zap, pow, bam, bang, phat." I like four of those five sounds. The "phat" one (if that is what it is) is strange. It doesn't seem to fit with the the others. I'm trying to find an alternative to offer in one of the sound banks. I was thinking about Pop or Boom or even Zoink? I have a sound effects engineer friend working on it.
Just ordered a Flash Gordon. Can't wait! Thank you for making these an option and looking forward to it!

Flash Gordon is one of my favorites. I spent a lot of time getting that one right.
Any chance you could post the custom Flash Gordon sounds on your website again? I seem to remember they used to be there, but can't find them.
Just wanted to add another “satisfied customer” post to this thread. Replacement board works great and came with an unexpected, but incredible, full-detailed manual! Awesome work Geeteoh! Thank you.

Great to hear. Flash Gordon is one of my favorites. I set it to the custom attract where it plays part of the the Flash Queen song.
…replacement Squawk & Talk sound board now supports Eight Ball Champ…
Very interested as my board needs repair and would love to have options to replace sounds and have the background sound but at low tolerable levels Right now I turn off background - it’s too much. I do notice that the voice on mine seems deeper and maybe slower than I hear in the video (probably imagination). These sounds are taken from the original roms though, what you think might explain difference?
So cool! I just discovered Your board the other day, I use the same mp3 trigger in a few projects , great use of tech!

The sounds for my board were recorded from a well maintained Squawk and Talk board configured with the correct game ROMS. I did some special recording tricks and I cleaned up the final recordings (removing any humm). Typically, the voices on my boards are clearer. Every stock Squawk and Talk board sounds a little different due to age of the components. The size of the speaker and the cabinet adds a lot of low end. I'm not sure how the sound was recorded in the video on my website of EBC as it was done by a customer. In many of my other videos, I use a wired microphone sitting about a foot from the speaker under the cabinet and I have the volume turned up a bit more. I've never had any complaints about the quality of the sounds on any of my game recordings.
For EBC, I have the background playing without stopping for sound effects and voices. The stock Squawk and Talk stops momentarily. Mine does, however, reduce the volume to 1/4th power when a voice is played. This is only for the games where the voice is important to game play such as EBD, Spectrum, and EBC.
The background is pretty simple to replace. Along with the custom attract sound. The others are much harder as there are so many sound effects and voices. Games like Xenon and Flash Gordon are much easier as they have only a few sounds and voices overall.
You can use a text to speech website to recreate all the voices pretty easily. I did this with Elektra - making a set of female voices for it in one of the sound banks. I have a webpage and video link (on the page) of how to do it with aides for all the S&T games.

Ron at Joe's Classic Video Games just did a video on my board in a Medusa. Everyone in the comments believes my sounds were the same or better.

Thinking about dropping some dough on a S&T and SIA for my Centaur. But yeah, I watched the whole series on that Medusa, including their latest on the sound. Love his vids!
But Like Ron.....I too wondered how you pronounce Geeteoh. Is is GEE-TOH, or Gee-Tee-OH?? Or maybe something else?

It's G.T.O. Like the old Pontiac GTO. It's actually the license plate on my GTO.
I've sold a bunch to Centaur owners. My replacement Squawk & Talk sound board has three different ways it can support the reverb/echo like the Say It Again board. It can support the normal Say It Again through the J2 connector, I offer a cheap alternative with a PT2399 board that can be connected to the J2 connector, and I have a sound bank that has the reverb/echo recorded right in the files. A customer of mine also has a super cool stereo version that I include in yet another sound bank. But you'll need an external stereo amp and two speakers to get this. This video explains the methods.
Hi all, just received my Flash Gordon today which already has a Geeteoh board installed.
What should my expectation be in regards to sound quality/fidelity ? Obviously this is overall 40year old engineering and I’m happy to live with if it is what it is, but the Queen audio in comparison to music on my Robocop and Tommy sounds quite distorted and thin/compressed. Thanks in advance
Make sure the three volume mixing knobs are set at about 2 o’clock (half way between up and right). This assures you don’t distort when more than one sound plays.
Check for torn speaker.
Only complaint I’ve had is with a low quality MicroSD card. Is the MicroSD card a Sandisk? I’ve had issues with gigastone and PNY not being fast enough. My early ones had these. I can send you a Sandisk.
I did the attract sound. That one is good quality. I did not do the custom sounds in sound bank 3. I don’t know how those were created.
The WAV files are 44.1kz which is CD quality, but it depends on how good the source is.

Thank you for the response, I’ll check all of these later today.
Kind regards
Sandisk microSD is already fitted Twizzled the 3 knobs to 2o'clock as two of them were closer to 6 o'clock.
The audio instantly sounds less distorted and I can hear some bass to the audio now, I will likely replace the speakers soon in addition as these are the originals.
Thank you
I just put one these in my Eight Ball Deluxe. Fantastic! I do have a question about mounting it. On my Eight Ball Deluxe I can only really use 1 screw and 1 stand-off. Is there a way to make it a little more secure? The board has a little play in it.
By the way I just repinned the connector. The old one had the green slime. Yes I should have used a 15 instead of 18. Oh well.

This is:
4.1 Class D amp 200w
2 - 3.5 Kickers in the head down firing
2 - 6.5 Kickers in the front down firing
1 - 12 Kicker Comp In the back down firing
I don't like to see speakers on a pin and if you mix the stereo stems correctly, down firing still conveys the stereo well.
I don't hear the reverb/echo effect in this video. Also in the Geeteoh YouTube video #30, which showcase these effects, I don't hear the effect when you switch to stereo. I understand that setting 3 has the effect recorded into the sound, negating the need for a separate SAI board. Is it not the same for the stereo setting 4?
If I were to go the stereo route and wanted the echo, would I need the add on reverb/echo card?

The reverb effect is sometimes hard to hear on it's own. But very easy to hear when you go back and forth from no reverb, to reverb.
The stereo sound set (sound bank 4) on my board has less length on the reverb/echo than the others. It's more difficult to hear the reverb, but it is there. I believe this stereo sound set was created by offsetting the 2nd channel a bit in time. So the reverb effect goes back and forth between your ears. A really neat and spooky effect. When I recorded my mono version (sound set 3), I used the Audacity software reverb effect. And the third option, the PT2399 board, uses yet another method which is adjustable. Essentially, all three options here used different methods and all sound a bit different. Include the stock say-it-again board, and get a fourth different sounding version.
The only way to get stereo is to use sound bank 4 which has the channels offset. If you didn't use this method, both channels would be identical, and you'd have no stereo. Not sure how you'd create a stereo effect otherwise - from a mono sound set. But if you did and needed adjustable reverb, you'd have to get a two channel reverb board. My PT2399 board is only a single channel.

Ah ok, so that's why you kept the jumper in place when you showcased the stereo option in the end.
Thanks for the explanation! I just picked up a Centaur II and got the original boards (squawk and talk, SIA) working great. I still think I'll pick up your setup. I'd love to support the work you do and also think sound and voice simultaneously playing is such a great feature!

My board may sound different when comparing side-by-side with a stock board. But, each stock S&T will also sound a bit different too. In my experience, mine will sound the same or better. Friend of mine has a Vector machine - his stock S&T has a lot more low end. But I haven't seen that on other machines. The voices are generally clearer on mine - or as clear as a 80s synthesized voice can be. I've noticed that the voice on my stock S&T boards get more distorted as they heat up.
