Quoted from GLSP3022:

Just joined the club! Love this game! Found one with the Big Shot intact and not a single crack on the ramp.
Can anyone she'd light on the eXcellent Ray wireform variations? I have the wavy verison, but I don't see that often? Too much cost?

The Dr Dude I operated back in the mid-late 90's had a wavy ramp. My game was a sample though, because if I remember right, it had something special with the boards. (WPC boardset? Can't remember now..) I was never able to find out the difference - I heard that it was either a production change, or a change on machines that went overseas. Wasn't ever able to verify one way or another.

Can someone do me a flavor and grab me a picture of the area under the 'Heart of Rock 'n Roll' plastic/target there next to the ramp?

Thanks.

Thank you!

Hey, guys..
Take it to PM.

Those that care will be watching it on eBay. Those that don't, aren't. End of story.

Quoted from EStroh:

My machine came with a center post installed. I removed it because I didn't see any photos posted anywhere that showed this post installed - I assumed it was added later.
A few weeks ago I was talking to a "lifelong" pinball repair guy and he said it was originally an option and questioned why I didn't put it back on the game. He's seen a lot of these, including another WPC DD he's worked on.
So... does anyone have this center post on their machines? Maybe it was just on the WPC version? I want to restore the machine to its "stock" condition and I'm thinking I might put it back in.
Thanks for any information![quoted image]

While I can't be 1005 sure, I had a WPC version in one of my locations back in the 90's, and I am pretty sure it had a post. But again, it's been almost 20 years, so I could be wrong.

Quoted from Jestr:

I've yet to find the translucent cover for the right spotlight, so it's either currently still lost in the depths of the machine (despite looking through a few times) or was never there to begin with. While not related to my error, I appreciate any speculation as to what machine these spotlights may have come from.

The spotlight are standard pieces, used in games that had them. Yours has some linda LED in them. Two seperate components - can just purchase new LEDs if the missing cover of the one bugs you that much.

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

1) Does your machine have these unconnected plugs?

Those look like opto connectors.

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

Another question - the other plugs I have connected seem odd as there are many wires on one side but only 2 on the other side:

This is normal. The side with multiple wires is just so the curcuit can continue to the NEXT plug/location. The side with one wire in each pin goes to the item itself. (Switch, lamp, opto, etc.)

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

Strange. Dr Dude doesn't have any optos that I was aware of.

Ok thank you.

Sorry, that was habit. Not optos, but any switches/lamps.

Quoted from ajfclark:

Looking through the manual, the flipper coil stop listed is A-12111. The parts list on IPDB calls for A-12390.
Is the medium or tall stop the right one?

For Dr. Dude, A-12111.
The other, A-12390 was introduced during TZ and games afterwards. (For a while, anyways..)

You know, I was wondering -

Who here has a Dr Dude - possibly a Sample game - with a large black ink smear in the center area around the thermometer artwork?

Back, 20 years ago, I had a Dr Dude in one of the locations I worked in, and I left shortly before the place closed. The owner said I'd have 'right of claim' to any of the games, but of course never got contacted. I'm wondering what happened to that specific game!
